BMC: The Devil Wears Nylon & Harry Potter

Halloween is always the big release for me as I just love Halloween themes! This year's offering was called The Devil Wears Nylon and while my wishlist wasn't so long as usual, it was only because the prices are so ridiculous that lots of things pruned themselves! But I still ended up with a sizeable haul.

Some of it took a long time to get me and then I was delayed in taking photos thanks to my tattoo, so apologies for this post coming so long after Halloween itself! And apologies for the poor quality of the photos as my phone got stolen so I'm using a super old one.

You know the drill by now, IOD always comes first! Invocation vs Haunted Graveyard Inside Out Dress allows me to get my hands on the Invocation print I missed out on when it was on a midi, although it doesn't look so nice on this shiny fabric. As for the other side, it looked a lot more blue in the site photos, but I prefer it more grey! It is a little similar to Haunted House which was on a previous IOD though.

Since I've been collecting the ouija pieces, the Ouija Board Black Boss Shirt and Ouija Board White BF Bomber were must haves! I'm still not convinced by BF sizing though, and the sizing of the boss shirt was a risk too and it does fit badly (bunches up so badly and gapes if I move my arms even slightly). Death By Disco PVC Skater Skirt is one I didn't intend to get but I got it to bulk up my third order since I loved this print the first time around! Need to make myself start wearing PVC, but it's just not very wearable, huh?

Trick or Treat Business Time Shirt was another risk in terms of sizing as it's a completely new cut, and I haven't tried anything like the Trick or Treat Pumpkin Cuffed Shorts before either. I maybe could have sized down for the shorts as I must be between sizes for them. I don't like the shirt when it's down as it's unflattering, but tied up like this is super cute!

Last but not least, the Voodoo Galaxy Scoop Skater Dress (you can tell this was my iPhone 6, huh?). I was so gutted I missed this print when it was on a boss shirt previously. By the time this was released I'd cooled off the print a bit, and the pastel bits are pixellated and cheap looking compared to the amazing quality of the galaxy background, but I do like it overall as the themes are very me.

I did have to change around my orders a bit, but I missed out on the Gone Batty Yoke Midi Skirt and decided that the Gone Batty Tee Dress would just be too long on me. I kinda wish I'd got the tee now though as I love that print! Two big wants I ruled out on the basis of price are the Voodoo Magic Harness Maxi Dress (so expensive it's over the upper customs limit, so there's no way I could ever have justified it) and The Choker Bralette that I now regret not buying. My only other want from the collection (other than the other PVC items which I really wouldn't wear!) is the Route 66 Skater Skirt, but it isn't limited (a rare occurrence!).

Not Halloween, but I also got the Great Lake vs Great Hall Inside Out Dress from the Halls of Hogwarts collection, and it arrived before 2 of my Halloween orders and blessedly without customs for once! I skipped the Ravenclaw Scoop Skater Dress as I think all those stripes that don't match up are ugly...they should have been designed like school or quidditch robes, damnit!

The release after those was the Marvel New York one, so I guess BM are really into the licenses right now. I guess Christmas must be around the corner, though!

The Cursed Child London

Near the end of June, me and Rob went for a short trip to London to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre. I'd never seen a non-musical play before, so I wasn't sure what to expect! We saw the parts on separate evenings, and I'm glad we did as I got restless enough as it was.

I'm not going to lie, I found the first part quite dull and spent the second half counting down the minutes until we could go get McDonald's. The magic effects were amazing though, despite some of the illusions not being so good for us since we were so high up (right at the back)! Can't really complain about the view though when it only cost £40 for two of us to see both parts.

The next day we walked to Oxford Street for a bit of shopping since we weren't able to book the Harry Potter Studio Tour. So sad they didn't have a huge Pinkie Pie like these Rarity ones, they were reduced to £50 and I definitely would have bought one (even though it would have been a struggle to carry it all the way back!).

We ended up having a late lunch/early dinner in a pub we found the day before before dropping our stuff back at the hostel on The Strand.

Then a quick change, and off to part two! Which was miles better, although it did feel a bit like bad fanfiction. Obviously I don't want to spoil the plot, but it centred on Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy and included lots of much-loved characters from the original series (including the sorting hat!).

We got badges after both parts, and the programme was a fiver. There were also house lanyards, stuffed owls, and a few other things for sale in the lobby.

The next day we had to leave before breakfast as our car parking expired at 8am, so we really didn't get much time in London at all. Somehow it took up 4-5 hours to get home, although we did stop for breakfast in a service station (where they tried to give me mushrooms which made me almost lose my appetite)!

Somehow I forgot to post this back at the start of July as I intended to add more photos, but eh just post haha.

Harry Potter Studios

On Tuesday 1st of September, it was time to return to Hogwarts!

I ended up leaving a little later than I had planned as mum decided to give me chores just as I was leaving! After dropped my bag off at my hostel on Edgware Road, I headed to Watford Junction to meet some sharkies!

We headed to Tinseltown for lunch, and I had the BEST MILKSHAKE EVER. It was super expensive but chocolate brownies are sooo yummm. My burger wasn't great, but the fries and dips were!

We met more sharkies outside the Harry Potter Studios!

I took way too many photos in there, but everything was so awesome!

It's amazing how many oil paintings were made!

Umbridge's office was my favourite part. So much pink! And kittens! It was someone's job to film kittens playing to put on the plates!

Erf ter Hergwertz

I want a hippogriff!

Love all these technical sketches!

So huge!

We ended up spending about 4 hours at the studios in total, which was much longer than I was expecting. I'd love to again, hopefully when I have more money to spend in the shop as there were so many awesome things!

I just ended up getting these after trying to talk myself out of the scarf. I really shouldn't have bought it, it was almost £30...

The bottom bunk was really hard to get into when I got back, but I fell asleep pretty quickly!

Ended up leaving the hostel early as had to be out by 10 anyway. Sat in Hyde Park for barely 5 minutes before a guy started talking to me and sat by me and wouldn't go away. So I shared the spliff he offered me and then ran away afterwards and wigged out in Paddington Green for a bit before meeting the others at Marylebone haha oh god I cannot adult.

Erika with the giant camel in Hamley's!

Spent aaaages in the Disney Store! I wish I had more moneyyyy so many Tsum Tsums!

Group shot on the pumpkin carriage!

Instead of going to the museum for the bigger sharkie meet, I chose to stay out shopping. But soon left to spend a few hours back at The Green Man reading because I was too tired to do much else.

My little Disney haul! Can tell Halloween is coming.

Cute gifties from Katelyn!

So exhausted now, feel super ill. Had such a good time though! I think I may have to recover for a bit before I write up my posts about Reading as it seems a bit overwhelming right now.

Black Milk Museum Release, etc

On the 16th of December there was a Museum Release on Black Milk. Obviously I couldn't resist making a few purchases.

First on my hitlist were the PVC pink items from the Princesses & Villains collection. I failed at getting the skirt, but nabbed the Sweetheart Princess Pink Bodysuit.

I should have sized down as it won't stay up as I have no boobies! Need to figure out what tops I can wear under it to make it less dangerous.

On the second round I completed my velvet skirt mini-collection with the Velvet Deep Blue Skater Skirt, and threw in some Spidies Hosiery to make it worth handling fees if I had got hit by customs (plus you can never have too many tights!).

After lots and lots of refreshing, I managed to catch an Arabella Noir Dress randomly pop back into stock. I ought to have gotten a smaller size, and I'm not sure what to wear it with or if I even like it on me. But I'd been eyeing it since it was originally released in the Battle of Kings collection, and they seem pretty popular, so no regrets.

After a couple days of thinking on it, I went back for the Bloody Mary Wifey Top, and also threw in the Wonderland Wifey Skirt as it happened to be in stock at the time. Fleecy goodness! The skirt is hella tight, but I guess that adds to cosiness?

I also got a few more pieces on Ebay!

Completed my Ravenclaw mini-collection from Ebay with the Ravenclaw House Swimsuit. Unfortunately the seller cut the tags out and cut a small hole in the seam, but she was lovely about it and refunded a small amount. Now I just have to fix it up before I can wear it, but I have until the Summer to do that!

I finally got my hands on Black Ribs Swim on Ebay. It was one of the first pieces I ever wanted, so I snapped it up at a good price even though it isn't my size. At an XS LT, it's workable though. Although it's as long as my body before I even put it on haha #shortpeopleproblems

And lastly, The Holey Leggings hosiery, since I buy all the hosiery I can. Turns out they are actual leggings, but ah well!

I lied, also my belated Christmas present from Rob - the Matte Pink Zip Suit.

There weren't too many piece in the 3 January Ammos that I wanted, so hopefully I can save some money soon!

Limited & Museum Gets

If you are a follower of Black Milk you will know that recently a whole bunch of stuff was taken off the site, never to return! As such I got in one last limited order and picked up a few bits in the museum release too. I can't link pages this time as these items haven't been added to the museum yet!

This was my limited order! I finally took the plunge and got some shooters, although they look horrid on me as I'm too short and probably should have sized down. These are the Ravenclaw Shooter and Black Milk Shooter. I also finally bought the Party God BFT fromt the Adventure Time collection. I had to size down as my size was sold out (and I knew not to size up as my Gunter one was way too big!), and it fits but isn't as baggy as I'd have liked unfortunately! I might try to size swap it.

I got a Gunter drawing with my museum release order =P

And here are the items I scored! The Princess Bubblegum Scoop Skater I had to buy a size too big as I was too slow to snag my usual size. It's actually a lot more comfortable due to this, but not as flattering and a little big Dx On the other hand, my Highlighter Gym gear I bought in usual size and it's TINY. Which is annoying as it said to size down if you wanted it tight. Doesn't really encourage me to go out running when I'm too fat to wear it! Hopefully I can slim into it eventually though. I really preferred the plainer versions (the ones I got are too LOUD), but I thought a size up would be too big and so didn't go for it. DAMNIT haha.

While nothing fit how I'd have liked, I'm still reasonably happy with my purchases. I didn't want to miss out on owning something Ravenclaw from the Harry Potter collection, and I wanted gym gear specifically for running which I can still use despite hating how it looks on me! I should probably not buy anything else for a while though, especially since my second Battle Of The Kings package seems to be stuck in customs!

Magic & Modules

FINALLY, Pottermore is open to everyone! I already sped through The Philosopher's Stone yesterday ^_^' My username is WingRiver6774 if anyone wants to add me. I'm a Ravenclaw, not that it will come as a surprise.

In more Muggle-y news, I have to pick my options for my final year on Wednesday. Although registration is open for two weeks, places are on a first come first served basis (one module has only 18 places), so I want to get them done as soon as registration opens if possible. Which may mean sitting on my laptop refreshing SAMIS all night!

But I don't know which ones to do! I have an idea for second semester (though I still need to look back over and consider it all), but no clue at all for semester one. Which means I'll have to spend all tomorrow (after my meeting) Googling all the topics, trying to figure out what everything is and what appeals to me most. I don't really have a clue what interests me though! And topics such as psychoanalysis are really interesting, but not really relevant and I did terribly in my essay about Freud last year Dx And I wish I could continue with Neuroscience, but it's just too difficult and they didn't give us enough help. I find it interesting and it makes me feel brainy, but too much work and waaaaay too much risk, especially when you consider that I need at least a 2:1 and my current grade is only just that.

I think I'll have to try to see what will be most relevant to my dissertation topic. Boo. My poor dissertation! I am behind on ethics as I was unable to do any work last week due to being at home and thus being lazy, and now I'm just panicking about options. I think I'll have to go up to campus afterall, as here I just keep procrastinating!

I'll be so stressed out on Wednesday morning though, worrying that I picked the wrong things or that I'll miss out on my Cyberpsychology and Clinical Psychology places, and also I'll be buying tickets to Frank Turner's gig in Bath that morning too. Eeek!

Wonder Story! And a Spot of Shiro.

I just ordered it!

I'd been unsure whether to or not for a while, but I've decided I really REALLY want a dark red piece because I know red suits me and it's just a gorgeous colour. I was really looking for a BTSSB or AATP print, something a little more mature, but every time I bid on something on Japanese auctions I get outbid, or my bid gets turned down. I posted a WTB on egl_comm_sales, and a girl said she'd be happy to get Wonder Story for me next weekend when she's in San Fran.

I was a little torn between the collar JSK and the apron skirt, so I posted Rob a link and asked him which he preferred. So I was checking Facebook to see his reply (skirt, because he 'likes the shoulders'...I suppose it must be as there's a bit of a maid vibe to it. What a perv haha) and was writing a reply back to the girl saying that was what I wanted. Then I scrolled down Facebook...and there was a little status from AP USA saying they'd just put the items up!

So I dashed to the website, shoved in the skirt, headbow and socks in wine, logged in, changed my addresses, put in my payment details...the whole while my hands were shaking like mad and I felt like I was about to have a heart attack. But I got there! When I'd finished checking out I looked back and all the items I had just bought were gone. So I must have gotten the last set of that! I was paranoid they'd email me to say there was a mistake, but I've had a confirmation email so hopefully that won't happen. I'm so lucky!

I've only now realised that those aren't the matching socks. I didn't have time to inspect closely...oops haha. But the colour matches, so that's all good! It's just that I have Rose Lace socks instead of Sealing Stamp ones (which weren't even posted onto the US site yet). No biggie. I'm not sure I like the headbow, but it'll do until I can get a matching bonnet =3 I'll post photos and a mini-review when they arrive (although they'll arive when I'm away! BOOOOO).

Definitely have to start saving up some money though. I'd like to buy the book bag to match Wonder Story when it comes out, but I said I'd be happy once I had a bordeaux dress so I'm going to try to stick to that. Once my last few items have arrived with my SS I'll ship out and then no more of that nonsense either! Look forward to that post, it'll be EPIC.

Also yesterday I went to Gloucester to meet up with Sophie! Sadly Annie didn't turn up, but it was good fun nonetheless (though I was a little miffed that I'd stayed up until 4am finishing her birthday present and then didn't get to give it to her!).

We went for a chinese buffet first, which was delicious! Irritatingly I wasn't very hungry (this is something that only ever happens at all-you-can-eat buffets D=), but I got to try new things, such as some yummy noodles and pineapple fritters (I don't even like pineapple but YUM).

Afterwards we went to see Harry Potter! Even though we'd both seen it already. It was still really good though, and I'm glad I got to see it on the big screen again. I noticed things I didn't notice the first time around too (like the fact that Lilly says 'always' as well!...and the fact that Percy is randomly there in the background despite the fact that he hasn't had a line since the first movie). And I still cried like mad ^_^'

I was supposed to have been going to Cheltenham afterwards for Annie's party, but since I don't know my way around Cheltenham and don't have Annie's number I decided to just go home. This turned out to be a wise decision as my headache ended up getting worse. And as evening approached I began to feel ill...it was either food poisoning or a really strange coincidence (I'm never sick unless there's been dodgy food or masses of alcohol beforehand). But it only lasted the night so I'm right as rain now, though still a little shaky!

Nosy herring gull at Gloucester station.

On to the outfit! I tried shiro for the first time. I'd always thought the look a little boring, but now I love the simplicity of it. I had to mix in a bit of gold as I had no white bag, but I feel it balances out the rocking horse shoe wedges.

Close-up! I was wearing gold eyeshadow, but it doesn't really show.

Standing on a toilet like a boss (I really need to buy a mirror for this place!). Can you see the big bruise on my knee? I got it going down a fireman's pole xP

I ought to wear these shoes more often, they're so fun!

Details! My nail varnish ended up looking really green next to the gold things.

My dress and blouse are Angelic Pretty, necklace is Metamorphose, bird hairpiece by Now, Voyager, roses from H&M, bag by Vivienne Westwood, socks and gold jewellery from unknown (I found all the gold in my jewellery box, I guess it must have been passed down to me from someone) and the shoes by Montreal.

I'm definitely going to do more coords with this dress! White is so versatile. I'll just have to remember to keep a napkin handy when I'm eating and drinking. I only got away with it this time as I had one, used a fork instead of chopsticks and stuck to drinking water.

I set off for Reading festival on Wednesday, so unless I manage to scavenge those photos off of Rob between now and then this will be the last post from me until I get back. So until then...
