BMC: Lady Anarchy

Bit of a delayed post as it took me while to get around to taking worn photos, but here are! The releases everyone seems to look forward to the most are the Halloween releases, and I'm no exception here.

This year's collection followed the story of Lady Anarchy.

I'm pretty gutted that the Lady Anarchy concept outfit wasn't part of the collection, because it's totally babein'.

Post cards have returned!

Naturally, the first item on my hit list was the Dark Moth Vs Play With Me Inside Out Dress. The baby side is super creepy, but I regretted not buying the Dark Moth Leggings, so it would have been a must even if I wasn't trying to collect IODs! Play With Me also came in HWMF leggings and play dress, which are both still available at time of writing.

Next up, buckles galore! Here we have the Buckled Bolero, Ultra Buckled Bralette, and the Buckled Suspenders. I'm a little disappointed with the bolero as the silver buckles don't match the other items, and I figured I'd be fine with my regular size. I think I should have sized down as I have to tighten the buckles fully and that takes away from the buckled aesthetic. Also I had assumed that they would be attached by poppers or slip clasps so you wouldn't have to undo the buckles to put on or remove, but sadly this isn't the case. The suspenders are super comfy though, if a little loose on the legs.

Also snagged was the Buckled Bralette and Spellbound HWMF Leggings. The bralettes...I should have sized down. I don't fill the cups at all, and I had to fully tighten the buckles on both items to make them fit which, again, takes away from the buckled look. I'm hoping they will be okay for layering over skater dresses though, as a bra will probably help them fit me better (this one is fine, but the ultra looks so awkward due to being big!). It is worth noting that I am between sizes though, so if you match a size better than me you should stick to that! The leggings are great, so my worries about the HWMF sizing changes were unfounded.

The Raven Pocket Skater Skirt finally gave me another chance to nab the ravens print, so that made me happy! I wasn't at all sure about wearing white, but turns out I love the skirt. And pockets make anything better, right?

The last piece I got from this collection is easily my favourite - the Spellbound Reversible Skater Dress. The print is awesome, and black is my favourite colour. Win-win!

I'm hoping the pieces that haven't been made limited stick around a good while as I'd love to own a Mechanical Bone Catsuit 2.0 but definitely can't afford one right now after the £90 customs I had to pay on this lot!

A Decent Cup Of Tea

Last Friday I ended up getting a somewhat last minute tattoo at Imperial Tattoo Company in Bath.

I wasn't too sure about the design at first, but thankfully I love it! It is in a rather awkward place for photos, but I'll probably get a better photo once it's healed!

It's another addition to my Frank Turner leg, and I really hope I can add more to it soon as I have a lot of ideas! Matchy-matchy leg yayy.

BMC: September

Wow, September went so quickly! And it also brought the much anticipated return of bigger, less frequent releases. There were actually two releases this month, but hopefully they will go back to being just monthly (my bank account would very much appreciate it...). It also saw the return of the customs fairy, so I got a few packs customs free which obviously saved me A LOT of money.

Due to the decreased release frequency, it seems appropriate to go back to a post per release rather than posts by month in future. But for now, I'll stick to the old format.

BACK TO THE FUTURE

The first release of the month used old prints in new forms.

The first item of the month for me was the St Vitus Vs Teal Galaxy Inside Out Dress. I loved the St Vitus print since the play dress was released but the cut wasn't for me, so I was very excited when this one was announced! The teal is also just such a gorgeous colour, although I feel I need a belt for break it up a bit. Still think I'm buying a size too big in IODs, but sticking to it anyway since I already have all the others in that size...

Second was another piece I'd been looking forward to for ages - the Black Lace Skater Dress. I bought the Lilac Lace Skater Dress last year and found it a bit baggy, so I sized down for this one. Sadly the cut seems a bit different and the material is nowhere near as stretchy, so it's a tad tight on my bust. Looks much better on the waist, though!

You may also notice the legwear in both of the above photos as being new too. They are the Barcode Hosiery, and I must admit I'm not sold on them. My legs aren't big/long enough so they make my legs look lumpy where the gap sections aren't stretched out enough!

Next, another addition to me Galaxy Blue Collection, this time a Galaxy Blue Shooter. I feel as if the shooter cut has been made narrower on the hips, although BM denies this. It feels a bit too tight there though, while still being hugely baggy in the middle so sizing differently isn't really an option. I'm not 100% about this piece as it seems a bit washed out, but shooters are so comfortable on warm days!

Also more new legwear here, some Sporty Stripes Hosiery 2.0 since my 1.0s are starting to wear through in the heels. They're just perfect for shooters and touchdowns! I'm pleased to see that the new filled-in top section isn't long enough to show with this kind of outfit, although they aren't as comfortable as the old ones are they are slightly more restrictive.

To go with Aurora Kitty, the Aurora Skye Touchdown was a must. Unfortunately I didn't realise before ordering that they would be matte rather than checkered, so I ordered a sized down. This means it's a bit too snug on my hips to wear with shorts and yet not long enough to wear as a dress, which is a pain in the butt. However, this material isn't very flowing, so in my usual size I look like a tube. I just hate this fabric, it doesn't work for me! Which is a shame, because I'd wear the crap out of it if it had been checkered fabric!

The next two pieces were also from this release, but I bought them during the second release.

Can never resist pockets or tartan, so the Tartan Lavender Pocket Skater Skirt was always going to fall into my basket eventually. The pockets do kind of show from the front which is a shame, but I love it otherwise!

And again with the tartan, some Tartan Navy Toasties since I wear my red ones all the time. Definitely a bit sheer on the ass, but nothing I wasn't expecting and it shouldn't be noticeable if I cut out the tag.

Other interesting pieces in this release included the Disco Cube Evil Skater Skirt & Crossing Over Crop, Bootleg Lace Leggings, and Tartan Red Hoodie.

BACK TO THE FUTURE

The second release of the month brought back museum pieces from weekly releases alongside some super old ones, as voted for on the Facebook page. This meant a second chance for me to grab the slouchies I wanted from the weekly releases, since I wear my Galaxy Blue Slouchy far too much!

Galaxy Purple Slouchy was the first one I went for. It's maybe a bit colourful for me, but this was the first print that caught my attention before I knew about Black Milk properly. However, I'm not a fan of this slouchy on me at all - I think it's maybe too pink?

And I seem to be developing a bit of a teal collection since adding the Galaxy Teal Slouchy. I prefer this to purple, but nothing will ever beat blue. Not sure where I'm going to find room to store these beauties!

In future I am tempted to pick up the Foxy HWMF Leggings as they're beaut, but I'm not sure how I'd deal with keeping white clean! I'm thinking I'll hold out for toasties in the same print.

Excursion!

I made a fail of an H&M online order a week or so ago, so I had to return pretty much everything (the XS top was too small, the S top was too big, the Pusheen nightie was just vile). But it was a good excuse to out for the day by myself!

Couldn't resist grabbing a sharkie drink before getting the bus.

After returning the stuff to H&M in Bath and popping into Topshop, I got my tragus changed to a shorter bar and a cheeky rook piercing from Broad Street Studio. Most of my reason for this trip was that I need an old piercing checked out, but apparently it's fine!

Then it was chill time while I ate lunch at my favourite spot in town - Norfolk Crescent. After a few chapters of Goblet of Fire I hopped on a bus to Bristol.

Tried on such a pretty dress in H&M!

And silly little boy's pjs in Primark. Not sure about keeping them as the bottoms are too short and have...erm..."room" in the crotch haha.

Full haul! Jeans from H&M, blood necklace from Topshop, the rest from Primark. I had intended to get some Yankee Candle Halloween stuff but felt uncomfortable in the store, so I ordered some online instead!

I'll admit, I did more sitting and reading than shopping on this occasion!

Spirithoods Grey Wolf

A few months ago I bought a Grey Wolf from Ebay, but ended up getting refunded as the seller was in hospital and their other half posted it but it rather conveniently got lost in the post (all sounds like bull to me), but I managed to get tempted by another one.

The hood! The seller accidentally send me their sticky tape too, which I find endlessly amusing. There is also a label of their name sewn onto the inside! But other than that, aside from not being quite as soft as my other hoods, it appears to be in great condition.

I'm a little saddened by how much brown there is in it, as I'd prefer it to just be grey as it would match with things a lot better.

I feel so stupid wearing these things, but they're so comfortable! Still gutted I got HB3 in my Aurora Kitty as the headphone parts are kind of painful on my ear piercings.

On a hood ban now, only BM collaborations for me in future! I think a Galaxy Fox will be out soon, which I look forward to!

InMe & London Chills

A while ago InMe announced their Overgrown Butterfly tour where they would be playing their first two albums in full. Both my boyfriend and I are fans, so we decided we just had to go even though it would mean a pricey trip to London!

After checking into our hotel in Islington (Central Station Hotel), we went to Oxford Street purely for Disney Store for Tsum Tsums. I also wanted to go to Drop Dead, but the shop looked so tiny so I was an idiot and was too self-conscious to go inside! But it was down this pretty alley.

Then to Islington O2! We ran out of time to go eat because we didn't want to miss Dorje, who turned out to be really good! I don't think Rob liked the vocals, but I liked them anyway.

We may have spent too much money on crappy Somersby...

InMe! Sadly I couldn't see well at all and was too sensible to try to enter the pit this time because I'm just too small. Boo! But it was a really great show, one of the best I've ever been to, I think. I just love both albums so much because I've been listening to them for 10 years now!

We were bad and grabbed drunken McDonald's on the way back to the hotel instead of eating anything nice.

After eating complimentary breakfast at the hotel, we headed out to explore London. Leicester Square was our first stop, with a look around all the cute things in Chinatown and a bubble tea stop.

Next we had chill time in Jubilee Gardens for a while to enjoy the unexpected good weather! I could have sat there all day.

We then wandered over to the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey for a look about.

And apparently Japan Matsuri was going on in Trafalgar Square, but it looked way too busy so we avoided it and went to Forbidden Planet instead. Where I spent too much money but could have easily spent tons more...and then had a sit down at Embankment Place.

We wanted to go to a Korean restaurant for dinner but it didn't open until 6, so went for a pint in The Green Man before heading to Paddington for a burrito! Had a really good day, but we were both exhausted and achy by the time we got the train!

My haul! The InMe shirt ended up being too small despite being a mens medium -_-Plus the price jumped from £5 on entry to £10 when I went to buy it! But the CD was free, I guess. Clow key and Koro Koron Hamster are from The Kawaii Kollective in Chinatown, Tsums and Pop vinyl from Disney Store, Sailor Moon card holder, Pinkie Pie, and Catbug are from Forbidden Planet. It's a good job I'm not closer to London as there are too many cute things and yummy foods everywhere!

Writing this post is making me miss London already, and we only got back on Saturday. I wish we'd gotten around to going to Covent Garden for gelato...

Reading Festival Overview

Been a little while since the festival since it was the end of August bank holiday weekend, but somehow I'm only just getting around to writing as I've barely recovered still! And to be honest I'm way too lazy to go in-depth this time. I blog more for me than anything else, so it's just to remember who I saw. Pretty much every band I saw was really good!

I arrived around midday on Thursday & met Marie at the station. We have fairly similar taste in music so we ended up spending a lot of time together. On Thursday evening we ended up going on a big fail pub crawl, for some reason.

Friday
Friday morning didn't start as early as I had planned, but I caught the last half of Andrew O'Neill's History Of Heavy Metal since I missed it at Download. It wasn't as funny as I'd have hoped, by good nonetheless. Neck Deep were next on my list, followed by tagging along with Marie for a bit of a chill outside Lock Up for the of Vant followed by God Damn and The Bots. I then went solo to Main Stage for Panic! At The Disco, All Time Low, and Bastille, before meeting up again at Lock Up for Modern Life Is War and The Bronx.

Highlight of the day for me had to be Limp Bizkit at NME. I even managed to persuade Marie and Greg to join me somehow! Although I did bribe them with the 2 Jager shots I'd smuggled in. I didn't get any photos though since we stood outside the tent for bar and toilet access!

I had intended to see the end of Mumford & Sons since I do like their singles, but ater one song I knew and half of the next song which sounded exactly the same, we bailed and went to see New Found Glory instead. Because Lock Up is easily the best stage, haha!

Saturday
I guess it doesn't mean a lot when the line-up this year was awfully poor, but Saturday was always the stand-out day and I'd probably have just done the one day had that been feasible. And mostly Main Stage!

Babymetal were first up, and I went all-out with my outfit (a red tutu, a black tutu, pleather peplum top, megitsune mask, red lippy...the whole shebang). And they really rocked! I've always loved J-pop, and while it took me a little while to warm to their music (Buono! will always be my favourite...), I really got into them recently. I already picked up a ticket to the Wembley show next year because I want to see them again. And hopefully with friends because I felt awkward being one of only a handful of people who knew more than "Gimme Chocolate!".

After changing into shorts and my Babymetal vest back at camp, it was back to Main Stage for Marmozets. They supported Muse on that surprise tour they did, which is why I was extra-specially annoyed that my dad went without me even though he'd have missed the announcement had I not told him! But hey, I got to see them eventually, and they lived up to expectations. Afterwards I saw Modestep for the third time this year, and it was probably the set I enjoyed most all weekend because their music is just so fun.

It must have been around this point that it started raining. I'm not a fan of Pierce The Veil at all, but I was sat in my poncho and I had a nice dry bit of ground under my butt, so I wasn't going to move. Alexisonfire rocked, and was much better than the time I saw them when I was 15 because I didn't get a split lip this time. I had intended to see Pvris at The Pit, but the stage was running madly behind so I had to skip them in favour of Royal Blood, whose set I had missed last time they played Reading.

The Pit running behind wasn't all bad though, as it meant I could sneak down there to catch Atreyu. I was delighted that they played "You Give Love A Bad Name", even if they did play it compeletely out of tune.

Bring Me The Horizon were another of my highlights. They sound really good live, I loved their last album and the singles from their new one. Even if I hate to admit it! I was glad of the rain and my poncho though as Oli Sykes was wearing a Babymetal shirt cut into a vest and a red checked shirt, the same as I was! I had to make a hasty exit during their last song however, as the on-screen graphics were awfully migraine-inducing.

I have obviously gone off of Twin Atlantic as I didn't enjoy their set at NME much. This probably wasn't helped by only vaguely knowing older songs, and the crowd being all children who only knew the new crap. Afterwards I caught the rest of Metallica's set. Objectively they were very good, but it was a little boring as all the songs go on forever and it was cold and too wet to sit down. And naturally they played "Enter Sandman" last, and it was the one song everyone was waiting for. I didn't have the nerve to dance the Macarena to it by myself though...shame on me!

Sunday
We had breakfast in town in the morning which was expensive and disappointing and made me miss Milton Jones. Boo.

So my day ended up starting quite late with Against Me!, and it was nice to see a decent punk band on Main Stage. The Gaslight Anthem followed there, before The Pit brought us Turbowolf, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and Beartooth. After a wander around the clothing stalls, we stopped by Festival Republic for the end of We Are The Ocean before Manchester Orchestra (who are in fact, not an orchestra at all). A short jaunt to The Pit for Cancer Bats and a search for food filled our time before the headliner of our night.

Who was of course, Frank Turner. To be honest I was pretty disappointed. I really enojoyed his solo set at Bristol, but solo sets just don't work in such a bit place. You can't really dance around to acoustic music, and at once point The Libertines were drowning him out from the Main Stage. I also had a woman behind me with a baby strapped to her front, and she kept jabbing me with her baby. I mean, seriously? I ended up joining Marie outside after a while as I got too hot and the crowd were so ignorant about any of his older songs which annoyed me a bit! But I guess a bit of an acoustic old favourite was really the perfect wind down at the end of the weekend.

Overall... I didn't enjoy the festival much. I always knew the line-up would be weak, but I just couldn't afford enough alcohol to get any more enjoyment out of it! And I ended up sitting through most of the sets to preserve energy that I then didn't need for Frank Turner. The weekend needed more drinking and dancing!

But I did have a good time, I enjoyed getting to know old camp-mates better, and I wish I could see them all more than once a year. It's just the expense that makes me cry. But at least my train back home wasn't affected by the strikes, I guess, as that would have put a huge dampener on things!
