Can Vegetarians Be Sexy? FUCK YES

So I was trying to concentrate on my Developmental Psychology notes when my attention is drawn to the TV. The Wright Stuff is on. And I know the sole purpose of this programme is to create unnecessary controversy to get people calling in and arguing, but this really irritated me.

‘Can Vegetarians Be Sexy?’

I appreciate that many would prefer to be with someone with similar eating habits to themselves, but they went as far as to say ‘I would stop fancying someone who didn’t eat meat’. Why the hell would you limit your options and disregard a potentially perfect partner due to what they do or do not eat? Does it really affect you that much? I’m sorry, but it’s more of an issue the other way around and I doubt you’d find many vegetarians refusing to date meat-eaters.

And then the whole ‘they can’t be sexy’. Because feasting on dead animals is sooooo attractive. Apparently vegetarians are ‘weak and pale’...um no, as long as they eat properly and get sunshine and exercise they’re no weaker or paler than the next person. Look at Anthony Kiedis ffs, he's tanned and sexy and I dare anyone to claim otherwise!

They went on to make wild assumptions that all vegetarians are picky eaters which we aren’t, and even if we were it really does not affect relationships. My first boyfriend ate meat with every meal and would never EVER even consider trying vegetarian alternatives. Did it negatively affect our relationship? NO! (Nothing beyond me being uncomfortable when he ate smelly tuna anyway.) Who cares what people eat? It’s not like I’m going to shove vegetarian food down my partner’s throat if they don’t want to eat it (...and it’d hardly be terrible if I did because they’d be getting their food cooked for them!).

It just bugs me because so many people misunderstand vegetarians already without this additional rubbish. The amount of times people have decided that the reason I’m thin is because I’m a vegetarian, or that I’m a vegetarian to stay thin (vegetarians can still eat cake, people!).

I apologise for my mini-rant that lacks purpose or direction...I had more to say on the matter but between finishing my notes and getting to the laptop I forgot things! GRRRR haha. And I appreciate I may be a little biased here, but I'd feel the same even if I wasn't a vegetarian. It just scares me a little that people think the other way...not to mention making me realise just how lucky I am to have a boyfriend who doesn't mind my vegetarianism, strange fashion sense, diminutive stature and extreme bitchiness.

So what do you guys think? Would you avoid dating a vegetarian? What about someone with a food allergy, would you reject them too?

Dream Sky Dilemma

Super tempted to just buy it...it'd be my last brand purchase until after uni is totally finished pretty much since rent has gone up by LOADS.

But I don't know which colour to get!

Had originally wanted navy but after looking at the pics it doesn't seem to pop out that much. I think I like black most but I have lots of black already! The sax is nice too but I already have my mint Soap Bubble skirt which is maybe a bit too similar.

Please give me your thoughts, I don't have long to decide.

Knowing my luck it'll have sold out completely by the time I decide. Went back for that usamimi band today after waiting to hear bf's opinion and him saying it looked stupid and then thinking 'fuck it, I'll get it'. But it was gone so I had to order online and pay £4 p&p =/ GAH. Wish I was a decisive person but it will never happen!

My first burando

Supposed to be sleeping after not having done any revision for a few days in order to be rested up for all-out revision for the next week, but distractions and awakeness bring me here instead. I had been trying to find a nice photo to use on here...with no success. Instead I stumbled across old item photos.

I was always a total bargain hunter so I never thought I'd own brand because buying from Bodyline was major splashing out at the time. I was the kind of person who would never buy anything that cost more than £15...and would begrudge paying that. Unfortunately that person is long gone now!

I stumbled across this Angelic Pretty skirt on eBay for £40 and I pounced on it. I probably should have given it more thought but I didn't think I would find anything for that price again (this was before I discovered the livejournal community, many moons ago).

It isn't a piece I've worn much, I must admit...I was disappointed when it arrived as the material is discoloured and it was covered in animal hair. The reason I have only worn it once is that the material is heavy and it flattens my poor petticoats. However I recently saw a coord with this skirt and I definitely think I'll dig it out when Winter comes around again. I ought to cherish it more.

...Well technically it wasn't my first brand piece - I already owned an Alice and the Pirates cardigan but it is not lolita style in the slightest. Also Angelic Pretty was almost instantly my favourite brand and has been ever since, so I suppose that is why it sticks out more in my memory.

Looking back it seems really strange that it has only been a year and a half that I have been wearing lolita. The time seems to have gone very quickly and yet it seems like it was longer ago!

Only a week now until my second year of university ends, and so I will try to blog more then. And about more interesting things. Planned posts. That have structure. Yes. The future.

NEWWWW WEAPONS!

So today I finally went to the Post Office to pick up my parcel. Unlike any Post Office I’ve ever seen O_O it was huge and I had to take a ticket and none of the options corresponded to what I needed...ended up pressing the wrong button and being skipped to the front of the queue! Luckily the lady was really nice and I obviously looked sufficiently clueless to not get in trouble.

Stupid celga sent it by EMS when I asked for small packet. So it cost more to post...and they also ignored my note asking that they send the Kera magazine they have held back for me. I never will get to see that magazine.

Sooo Angelic Pretty headbow first up. No idea how I am supposed to use it...but I was in desperate need of a BxW headbow so I snapped it up anyway.

Here is my pretty Metamorphose embroidered JSK! It ended costing more than I had expected, but really like it. There is a waist-tie button missing though and the replacement button is also missing =/ Anyone know where I can find small white fabric-covered buttons? Oh, and there is supposed to be a bow on it. I only noticed it was missing when I had already bought it.

I had my Biological Psychology exam this morning. It did not go very well as none of the areas I revised well came up. I ended up writing one whole essay that had pretty much nothing in it apart from ‘err yeh, anterior cingulate cortex does error-related negativity’ because I could not for the life of me remember any of the cognitive control stuff! (Well I knew all the working memory bits of it but that did not come up). The language and emotion essays I wrote were not great either, but I hope I did okay! After that I went to pick up my research project feedback...but the department somehow lost mine. No one else’s, only mine. Joy. So I have no idea how I did in that!

Also had a little look around the shops after picking up my parcel as I had not done so in a long while. Went in New Look for some two-tone socks but there were none to be found. I ended up getting these shorts.

Aren’t they adorable?! I do not have anything to wear with them though xP I wanted to buy an usamimi headband too since I have been wanting one for years, but the nice ones were £5 which is pretty steep for something like that. Hoping they will still be there in the sale so I can buy one...one of them went pretty well with the shorts! And another had birds all over it <3 Might hint heavily to my boyfriend about them mwahahaha.

Not sure what to do with myself now. I should be revising for my remaining exams but I feel I deserve the afternoon off. The weather is horrid too which doesn’t exactly fill me with motivation! So probably going to watch Dr Who unless I am struck by inspiration.

And also try to figure out whether to buy things or not! I had planned to buy a few things in the Muse sale but the nice ladies hoodie is not in the sale even though the male version of it is. I would just buy the male one but even the smallest size would be massive. The hoodie that is in the sale isn't that great. But still tempted, I could do with a new hoodie. Also I am tempted by some replicas. I don't even like replicas, but I cannot afford brand at the moment (well, it is more like my bf will murder me for wasting my money on clothes when he does not have any money). I'd like the sax Sugary Carnival JSK, yellow or lilac Milky Planet JSK (haven't decided), red carousel JSK and Gertrude (skirt has pretty ruffles but I like it in blue and the JSK would be easier to coord so undecided). But then I think...I could buy a brand piece or two with that money. Thoughts?

Recent Purchases~

Well since my bank balance is finally in positive figures again after the whole being-attacked-by-lots-of-bills-at-once fiasco, I’ve been treating myself a little! All these things arrived today! I also have a package to pick up from the Post Office (not happy about this...don’t see why they can’t redeliver like the usually do and the Post Office is well out of my way =/).

First there’s this Hello Kitty X M.A.C. blush. I really wanted the bright pink one but they all go for so much on eBay now they’re sold out. I kinda wanted the light lilac lipstick too, but no such luck! But this is still way better than my old blush which is really cheap rubbish I’ve had for about 10 years (as a child I was very resistant to my family’s attempts at introducing me to make-up!).

Aaaaand another Muse tee! This is my fourth now bahaha.

My gorgeous tight-lacing corset! Need to figure out how to lace it properly and like what the hell I’m supposed to wear it with (I really don’t think things through before buying things...)

And *pan pan paaaaan~* my Vivienne Westwood bustier! I really shouldn’t have bought this beauty though as I have no idea what to wear it with. I’d wanted the black velvet one but when this came up in my size (or so I thought) I snapped it up. Unfortunately at an 8 it’s a little tight. I can get it on but it really squeezes my boobs! Also I get a really unattractive muffin top, but that’s pretty much unavoidable with stuff like this since all my flab seems to congregate there to have a blubber party or something.

(My boobs actually hang out more than in this pic...I couldn't get the back done up at first LOL)

Any ideas of what to wear it with? I’d originally planned to wear a black blouse under it but there’s no way one would fit under it! I’m having a hard time thinking of anything that would stop me from looking like a hussy!

Meanwhile I am giving up on this trying to eat healthily. I’ll still track my calories just so I can see where I go wrong and stuff, but eating 1600 or under is just seeming impossible and so gaining weight is inevitable for now!...plus I bought more Skittles today (though I put them in the fridge so I can’t eat the whole lot in one go coz they’ll be too hard to eat loads of and also I’m probably too lazy to go downstairs to get them) and also a Creme Egg because they’re only 25p in Sainsbug’s right now!

Okie-doke that’s it for now since I should probably at least define some terms and skim over my notes before bed since I only have until Monday morning to learn this stuff (and Biological Psychology is HARD). Though if I do get my package I may post that up too =P

Dream Sky~Kattobingu!

My day today has been rather centred around Angelic Pretty. (Of course, it should have been centred around revising for my imminent Cellular Neurobiology exam that I am doomed to fail, but I digress).

I happened upon scans from the new Angelic Pretty catalogue (see here) and my goodness. It was love at first sight.

THIS SKIRT! THIS. SKIRT.

Dream Sky.

And what a dream it is!

I’d been interested in it since seeing a few scans floating around Tumblr, but that skirt is simply divine! And the navy isn’t a colour I’d usually plump for, but I think it really suits the print (although if buying I’d be tempted to go for lavender instead since I already own things to coord with it. But then I guess there *is* pink in the print...)

And so I’m in yet another dilemma! Do I try to buy it or not?

If I decide to I’ll need to act quick to get someone on board to go fetch it in store, since I’m usually far too slow for the online things and reservations would probably need to be done through a shopping service anyway. But the skirt is £130 not including all the faff that comes with buying online. That’s quite a lot for what seems to be a few layers of see-through material. But there is no denying that my life would be greatly improved with such a glorious skirt in my arsenal, no? Merely cropping the scan to just the skirt and posting it on Tumblr has gained me over 200 notes and a few new followers!

But then it would just be one treat to get me through the Summer. Which I could do with since it looks like my planned Bodyline order needs to be postponed until DHL comes back since EMS is far too expensive.

Hmm...

Also I watched RinRin's interview that was posted on the US site and golly am I jelly. I know it's silly, but I wish I could be an Angelic Pretty model! But naturally that is impossible for many reasons...the fact that there is no store in the country, that I'm short and plump and unattractive and painfully camera-shy. But a girl can dream. Dream Sky. KATTOBINGU~

Shrek Forever After

Just watched it for the first time. I was expecting it to be rubbish but it was actually pretty good! Despite being a blatant It's a Wonderful Life rip-off haha. Nice to see Fiona being a good character again...even if she does go back to being a lame-ass one =/

FAT PUSS IS FAT
Kinda got to me a bit though, the whole 'You don't realise what you've got until it's gone' message was a little jarring. Am I expecting/asking too much in my life? Might I be making mistakes that I'll later regret?

But I guess there's no way of knowing until you've lost it all and desperately want it back. I've made that mistake before (but he turned out to be gay anyway so at least I can say it was inevitable). I don't want to make that mistake again. But...sometimes you have to take chances, or you'll never get the things you want!

Gah I've become so self-centred when I used to be selfless. But I was fed up of being a doormat because that never worked for me either (although it did work a little better as I had a best friend bossing we around which is better than not having one haha).

New beginning~

Okay, I'm going to give this whole blogging thing a try.

Mainly because the one I keep at the moment on AJ...well the site isn't good for blogging. Too many spammers and no one actually reads anything I write.

That isn't to say that writing here will be any different, but at least there is an autosave function!

Not too sure what I'll be writing about yet. Hoping to do lots of things in the Summer like getting fit, doing some art and possibly learning to embroider, but whether these things will happen I cannot say, and I have another month of exams to contend with beforehand. And it's rather likely that I'll just post about the millions of items of clothing I want but cannot afford (probably going to do a post for each dream print/item just to loosen up my blogging muscles).

But anyway. Hi there =P
