Spring Picnic

Since the weather has finally turned sunny, I attended a small lolita meet in Bristol on Saturday!

I'm not happy with the outfit I put together as I had to throw it on at work without seeing it all together, and I'm not fond of wearing pink. But I really wanted to wear Wonder Story for the first time in ages as it's perfect for this time of year, I feel. Jacket, skirt, and socks are all Angelic Pretty, blouse is Innocent World, jewellery are Metamorphose and Patisserie Pink, cardigan and flower crown are Primark, shoes are Bodyline.

I made some double custard cream blondies and double oreo brownies! I'm not pleased with those either...nothing can live up to the toblerone brownies I made recently.

I also made cucumber maki. Came out messy, but tasted so good and was so easy to make!

The fooooood.

Ziggi's gluten free cake was amazing! The texture was so strange but so so good.

After the picnic we went into Bar Chocolat and I fell in love with the chocolate ducks!

I was so tempted by cheesecake as it looked yummy but I had already eaten so much that I opted for an ice cream instead to cool down after so long out in the sun.

When I got home I opened my gift that Maria and Monika brought back from Paris for me - more chocolate! It's so insanely beautiful that I can't bring myself to eat it yet though. Colourful shiny chocolate ♥

I always feel strange in lolita recently. I'm never happy with my coords, and I really hate being laughed at by strangers. Guess I'll have to up my game and get more confident though, as I have bought a silver ticket for the Regalia Saturday event later in the year!

Lolita Blog Carnival: Picnic Coord & Menu

As it happens, we had a picnic yesterday at the zoo! So while the following may not be the best for this week's Lolita Blog Carnival theme, they were what actually happened ;P I won't be listing a full menu as we all bring a little bit each, so I will share what I made for the occasion!

This is the coord I wore! I was torn between two coords, but I plumped for this one in the end as Sophie was wearing a chocolate print too. The weather was really hot and sunny, so I tried to keep as cool as possible.

For my savoury I cooked up some odd little snacks! I don't actually know what they are, but they tasted good enough.

For sweets, I decided to try out ice cream cone cupcakes! The icing was far too sickly, but I'd definitly try making them again.

What things do you like to wear to/eat at picnics?

Picnic Time!

On Saturday we had the first picnic of the year in Bath.

I made pizza rolls (hot pepper flavour)...

...and Danish swirls! These didn't work out so good, but I know what to do next time. They are lemon curd, chocolate fudge, and cinnamon fillings.

We had a feast (I must have eaten a million macarons!) in a covered part of the park, which was just as well as it rained and hailed heavily mid-picnic! We played charades with randomly generated print names and then afterwards went for tea. Everyone went home pretty early as we were all super tired!

Group photos I stole from Hayley's Facebook.

My outfit! JSK, bags, headbow, and parka are all Angelic Pretty, socks are Topshop, shoes are River Island. I really don't wear my Sugary Carnival JSK enough.

Hopefully the weather will be better for the next picnic! I still had fun though, and it was great to see my friends again after such a long time ♥

Cake & Cider!

It seems like a really long time since the last meet, so needless to say I was really looking forward to seeing all my frilly friends. Low on photos as I didn't use my camera at all and so have pilfered these from other people!

I wore my new Angelic Pretty dress that I only unpacked just before leaving the house (had a stressful morning and ended up being late as the car broke down halfway up a hill so I had to wait to make sure Rob would be okay and then get a bus to town and then out to my house to change and then back to town!). It's called Moon Night Theater and while the pleats are a pain, I absolutely adore it.

We went to Sydney Gardens for a sheltered picnic. I took the muffins I made (I left a few and the cupcakes at my house for my housies to eat), and my finished cupcake-shaped cake.

It was really good to see everyone and meet some new people too! Here's a photo of the group:

After the picnic we went to Number 1 Royal Crescent, a restored Georgian town house. It was kind of interesting, but I was really tired so I struggled to focus on the history.

After all that, we went to our favourite pub - The Hob. Beestings all round! I ended up drinking far too much (and apparently Rob had planned on surprising me with a romantic dinner, but I stayed in the pub and then missed my bus. So he wasn't too happy when he came to pick me up Dx apparently he'd wanted to get McDonald's instead, but he had to practically carry me to the car so we didn't go. Oh dear!).

Can't wait for the next meet, although since I probably can't afford to attend the Alice Day one (partially due to forking out for September's super-meet with J et J in attendance!) so the next one isn't for a whole month. Boo!
