Recent Purchases!

I feel like I've been letting the fashion side of my blog down for quite a while, so I'd like to share some of my most recent buys!

The week I graduated I managed to convince my parents to buy a few little bits in town.

This stuff only cost about £20 in total. The clothes are from Primark, the shoes from Barratts, and the nail polishes from Boots.

A couple weeks back I went shopping with Sophie, and bought a little bunch of cute things!

The skirt and socks were from Primark and the bracelets and top were from H&M.

I also ordered this H&M skirt when I got home as they only had a size too small and a size too large in store. I added some bracelets to my order. They arrived just after I had been shopping again and finally found frilly ankle socks in Topshop! The Enter Shikari vinyl arrived in the post the same day too!

Here's the photo I took when in store trying on things I bought! I do love this skirt so much, but it is really short and blows up really easily if there's the slighted bit of wind...

After tons of agonizing I decided to risk buying some Juju jellies!

I got them in a UK4 and sadly they are a little small as I had suspected, but only in width. A UK5 would have been massive, so I guess I'll just have to deal with it. Hoping they'll stretch out as I'd wanted to be able to wear them with thick tights in Winter as they're far too cute for use in Summer only! They remind me of the 90s as I had a pair of flat ones when I was little. So sparkly~

Then there's my programme and line-up vest from Reading...

And lastly, I made an order from the Enter Shikari webstore at the end of July. I only just got the package as the first one got lost in the post. I had to threaten to make a Paypal claim if they didn't send proof of postage (so I could claim insurance from Royal Mail) before they offered to send the items again (they had clearly intended to just have me do nothing as 'bawww it was the mail, it wasn't our faultttt' but no way was I losing £60 of stuff...plus they'd sent it standard class postage despite my paying £12 for the privilege! Unimpressed.).

At least the items are great now they're here. I was worried that the shorts would be too small but they fit perfectly. The sweater is fine too. The tiny item is a little pin badge I bought for my brother, and also got another vinyl and a rubber bracelet.

I guess I did a lot of shopping afterall, huh? And hopefully there are many more buys to be had this weekend as Frock On is finally here! I'm hoping to buy something that's classic or sweet since you can tell I've been wearing a lot of black and very few pastels recently, but don't be surprised if I come back with more Angelic Pretty...

Reading Festival

This year was my third Reading festival in a row, and it was probably the best yet! I'll keep this entry short and sweet though, as much as possible.

Started off meeting a bunch of fellow campers at The Three Guineas just outside the station around midday on Wednesday. We were all Camp Loner folk, only I guess we aren't really loners anymore as we all know each other by now. Camp was great this year, although I missed most of Wednesday evening as I got sick and went to bed at 9.30pm (embarrassing!). On Thursday I finally got to ride on the boat, which was really fun. I also got my drink balance right this year instead of just staying sober all weekend, although I still ate for pretty much the whole camp! Best memory was the in-depth discussion of the Skittles advert where everything the man touches turns to Skittles.

Friday

On Friday a bunch of us went to a arena to catch the end of Skindred, who were awesome. Also caught New Found Glory and Bring Me The Horizon before I wandered off alone to get closer to the stage for Frank Turner.

I think this was my 8th time seeing him now? It was great as always, although I started shouting at people for standing up too soon at the end of Photosynthesis! Crowd was a bunch of n00bs!

I had intended to go see Bastille afterwards, but the NME tent looked pretty crowded so I went to see Kate Nash instead. Her sound seems to be much punkier now, and the photos came out pretty nice!

Caught the end of Deftones (I saw them in 2011). System Of A Down were miles better than I expected and they played all songs that I knew, which was fab.

Afterwards I wandered mostly. I've seen Green Day twice before and while they sound good Billie Joe just drags everything out too much. Bumped into Jesus and sat down for a bit of Skrillex which was grade-A shit, but also hilarious as Sonny's voice is so high-pitched and he looks exactly like Finn from our camp. Turns out I should have caught Crystal Fighters as they sounded great on the way back, but I'd had no idea who they were. Must do more research in future!

Saturday

Went with Laura to go see Mallory Knox as she was friends with them, and stayed for a bit of Lower Than Atlantis at which point the heavens were well and truly open.

Then we headed to Lock-Up where it was dry to catch Crowns on Jas' recommendation and a bit of Anti Vigilante before going to NME for Deaf Havana, who I'd missed on Main Stage last year. I think I stayed for a bit of Modestep, but soon headed off to get near Main Stage for Twin Atlantic.

They were great, as you can probably assume from the fact that I'd seen them live twice before and still went back! Managed to jump around until I ached and ended up being part of a group hug-and-sway for 'Crash Land' with a bunch of random guys!

Headed further back to watch White Lies and Foals who were both great before bumping into some girls I'd met through Jesus the day before, who I stayed with for Tame Impala. Not my kind of music really, but I got turned into a cat (the girls had less then family-friendly slogans scrawled across their foreheads!).

Wandered back with them for a bit of Chase & Status before heading back alone for Jake Bugg and Alt-J. They were really good but some asshole almost cigarette-burned my face which made me panic and my anxiety wouldn't wane, so I went back to camp quite early to avoid the Eminem crowd who all looked like they had several ASBOs each.

Sunday
On Sunday morning I met Sophie at the station before heading to the arena. We stayed at Main Stage all day, seeing We Are The In Crowd and Hadouken! while taking some photos of ourselves!

We moved closer for Don Broco as I really like them and I'd promised to call Bexy during 'Priorities' and wanted to make sure the sound went through my crappy festi-phone.

Moved back for Editors, The Lumineers, and Fall Out Boy before moving closer again during Nine Inch Nails, who were an absolute disappointment as they didn't play either of the songs that I know for unknown reasons. But as they weren't great we managed to get really close to the stage for Biffy Clyro!

A pre-Biffy selfie.

They were soooooo good, and this was time number 6 seeing them live for me. I think it was the best yet as I was so hyped after waiting for them all weekend, although still sad that I had to miss Funeral For A Friend and Shikari Sound System for it. Damn you timetablers and your sucky clashes! But I least I got to jump around and shout lyrics and get shoved by the person behind for being too rowdy...forever winning the 'most enthusiastic' award when it comes to music I really love.

I had such a good weekend and really wasn't ready for it to be over on Monday, although once home I was glad to have a cup of tea and a fantastic BBQ! I just hope I can go next year too if the line-up doesn't get worse than this year (so much hipster and dance stuff, whyyyyy).

Coco the Cat

Since our last cat passed away, we got a kitten last week! Her name is Coco, and she is totally cute.

For some reason she decided that I was her favourite person when she first moved in. She likes to attack my clothes, bite my hair, and snuggle into me. Which is hella cute and all, but it's typical! I'm the only person in my family who is allergic to cats, and since we got her I feel like I have a constant cold. Which sucks Dx but my parents are butts and don't care for my health, hence why we got her haha.

Luckily she has shown less interest in me since I was away for 5 days, although she still likes to climb up my leg and attack my hair/neck occasionally!

Lolita 52 Challenge: Week 18

~ Trends I thought I would never get into, but I now love ~

I can't think of anything in particular? Like the only trends I can think of in lolita are things I either liked or loathed from the start. I can't really think of anything I disliked but then warmed to. So this was quite a boring post, haha.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

My curiosity finally got the better of me!

I'd never played an Animal Crossing game before, but figured it'd be cute yet boring. And so far that's my experience of it. It's not a bad game, definitely fine for a few minutes play each day, but in the same way as LINEplay is (and that's free and not almost £30!).

I've only just started though and still have lots of functions to unlock (I want to customise my character alreadyyyy), and am in dire need of some friends! My DS friendlist is totally empty right now...*hinthint* My friend code is 4597-0734-7642.

Edit

I'm a little hooked on this now! I have planted a ton of flowers around my house (there are now more, and I expanded my house too).

I got a cute lolita outfit too! I thought the dress was horrendously ita at first, but I couldn't resist and it has really grown on me.

I spent tanabata fireworks with Sophie by wireless.

And have had lots of fun with catchphrases!

And found a shirt from Chocomint?!!

I'm now looking forward to reaching my 10th game day so that I can get more shops to open! I want to be able to buy shoes and change my look! Kinda bummed that I landed such a dumb-looking face though.

Crescent Moon

The 6th of August marked the one year anniversary of the Imperial Tattoo Company! To celebrate they held a free tattoo day with lots of cake!

This was the flash sheet for the day. I really liked the envelope design, but thought it was a bit much to get on impulse, so I plumped for the crescent moon design. I was a bit cheeky and cut off the starts...and rotated it...and refused to get it filled.

Excuse terrible photo (and flabby back), it's kinda hard to get myself! I can only just reach it to apply cream Dx

Turns out the shop did 29 tattoos that day!

Wonder if they'll do the same next year? I kind of hope so. Hopefully I'll be living closer to Bath again soon so I can go back for a foot touch up and more tattoos in the mean time.

Lolita 52 Challenge: Week 17

~ My first meetup ~

Wow, I had to go back to Asiajam to look up the answer to this one!

My first meet was April 2011, in Gloucester. We went around the cathedral and then had tea (well, hot chocolate in my case) in a cute little café. The meet was hosted by Sophie who is now a close friend, so I'm glad I shook off my nerves and went along. It was actually my first time alone on a train that day, after only using trains a handful of times previously.

It seems like such a long time ago now! Amanda was the only veteran, you can kind of tell that the others of us were new...but we all have to start somewhere!
