Revelry Tea Party

I finally got to attend a big tea party! I was pretty excited about it since I hadn't been able to justify the extra costs in previous years.

I ended up waking up pretty early and most of the others stayed in bed late, so I had my yummy breakfast in the garden before getting ready!

I wasn't all that happy with my coord, but since Ruth and Monika were wearing Wonder Queen too I figured I'd throw something together. Bonnet, wristcuffs, & JSK are Angelic Pretty, headband is Wonder Box (that I only bought the day before!), blouse is my mum's from Tesco via a charity shop (all the class), socks are Primark, shoes are Bodyline, necklace Metamorphose, and rings from Patisserie Pink and Drop Dead.

The event was held at The RAG Army & Navy Club at Pall Mall, and it must have been the fanciest place I've ever been! The ceilings were stunning, there were beautiful paintings everywhere, and there was even a stuffed penguin!

There was a small-ish buffet and endless cups of tea, with us seated 8-10 around circular tables. It was quite cosy with all of our petticoats, but it was easy enough to chat to everyone and get more food! I ate far too many sweets though.

There were little postcards, magnets, and a badge for each person on the tables. There was also another raffle, in which I won the Swimmer stickers and some gorgeous Grimoire tights! I feel so lucky. Each of the guests also chose their favourite outfit of the day, and Lisa managed to catch someone's attention so we all cheered like fools for her!

After the tea party was over, we took lots of photos in the drawing room. This was our Frilly Flat group photo ♥

There was an afterparty too, so I changed into some Black Milk, Angelic Pretty tights, and NikeXHello Kitty sneakers for comfort.

The venue was the Roadhouse in Covent Garden, an American diner styled place with good cocktail deals early in the evening! There was a live band called White Clouds & Gunfire while we were there, and they were really good.

Sadly the music choice in the club wasn't all that good. I thought it was a rock club, but it was all Stereophonics type stuff and they didn't even have any Biffy Clyro. For shame!

We didn't stay too late which was a shame, but it was probably a good move since we had to finish packing and leave early the next day. I already miss London a ton, and hope I can afford to live there some day with some friends!

Revelry

This weekend was the Tea Party Club's 7 year anniversary event - Revelry!

The Saturday event was held at Gray's Inn, which was a lovely building! The event seemed a lot smaller this year, and this was definitely a good thing as it was easier to see the talks and stalls without crushing too much petti. This made the atmosphere much more relaxed.

I decided to wear Angelic Pretty's Crystal Dream Carnival JSK and headbow as I've been wanting to wear it since it arrived but never had an opportunity! My hairclip is by Now, Voyager, blouse is Anna House, socks are Primark, shoes are Bodyline, bag is Vivienne Westwood (I think a replica), and my jewellery is various offbrand. I tried tying my hair like Sailor Moon, but it didn't turn out too well!

Lots of real gold and a sapphire to be classy for once! I was wearing pearls and a unicorn ring on the other hand. Do you like the sparkly nails?

We had lots of amazing stalls to wander around, a bring and buy sale, and a main event hall where the guests were introduced in the morning.

There was a little Q&A with the guests too! There were guests from Syrup, Ai Akizuki, Metamorphose, Grimoire, and the Gothic Lolita Bible. They were all totally adorable!

After lunch there was also a fashion show with lots of new Metamorphose items.

I think this one was my favourite! Michaela looks so amazing in it too.

There was also a talk from Ai Akizuki (founder of the Japanese equivalent of the Tea Party Club) about lolita life in Japan. She was so adorable and I think her presentation tugged on everyone's heartstrings. Sorry the photo is so awful, I didn't want to use the flash!

Later there was a raffle, and I won a cute bird ring from Roxie Sweetheart that you can see in my haul photo a little further down this post.

After the event we went to a Korean restaurant for some noms. It was my first time eating Korean food and I wasn't all that impressed. It was nice, but I had to pay full price for my meal despite obviously having it cooked without the beef which seems like a complete rip off.

Here are the items I got in my VIP pack. I'm a little butthurt about the iPhone 5 case since I can't afford one and have an ancient iPhone 4 haha.

And the things I bought/won! I bought a ton from Monika's Sweet & Tiny, and couldn't resist the new Grimoire dress despite the hefty £160 price tag. I ended up going back for the tights afterwards too, oopsie.

I'm already super excited for next year as Kyra and Michaela always do such a great job of organising these events! Bring on the 8th anniversary!

London Times

I spent the whole weekend in London with a group of friends in the Frilly Flat in North Acton.

I had a huge case to drag to London, so I dressed casually for comfort.

But then I changed into Angelic Pretty's Royal Chocolate JSK with an Innocent World blouse, Angelic Pretty hair ties, H&M hairclips, offbrand socks, and Bodyline shoes. It was a good choice since we saw so much chocolate, and I had yummy chocolate gelato before we went home.

We got some macarons from Ladurée, but the café was too full for us.

The place was so adorable though!

We ate in a place with honey bears! Well, I didn't eat. They were sold out of everything I wanted, haha.

And then the macarons were squabbled over!

Afterwards we starting watching a K-drama called Master's Sun back at the flat. I really need to look it up, as I enjoyed the first episode a lot!

Isle of Wight Adventures

Last week I went on holiday for the first time in forever! Aside from conventions, festivals, and lolita events, I haven't been on holiday for at least five years. This was also my first holiday with Rob finally. I'll try to keep this post short & be picky with photos, but I find it difficult! Full set can be found HERE.

We got the ferry bright and early on the Saturday, which was also Rob's birthday! There was a cute dog on the ferry (it was on our one back too, oddly), and when we got there we just unpacked and went grocery shopping and that was about it. Laziness rules all.

Our chalet was on the Brambles Chine site near Freshwater, and I thought it was cute!

On Sunday we went for a few little walks. Firstly through Fort Victoria to Yarmouth (where we bought the yummiest local baby plum tomatoes!)...

...And then later to Totland for chips and to watch the sun set. Was shocked to find that the main route had fallen into the sea thanks to a landslide, so we had to go the back way which was a shame!

On Monday we went to the Needles Park for a potter about. We tried a 'prize every time' claw machine & our prize got stuck, nooooo! But we got good views of the Needles from the Needles Battery.

We Sandown the next day and just sunbathed, read our books, ate chips and the best curry sauce ever from Fat Harry's, and then walked along the beach to Shanklin for some yummy ice creams!

We went to Amazon World on the Wednesday since we had Tesco vouchers to allow us in for free. Since last time I went they got red pandas! The hummingbirds seems to have disappeared though, which is a shame. We started watching Spaced when we got back, and I enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting!

Thursday took us first to Cowes where we found that the shop that used to sell loads of trading cards now stock only crappy records. The weather wasn't even sunny enough to go for a walk or anything! So we hopped over to Ryde where we didn't fare much better. Had yummy gourmet burgers in Wetherspoons as we weren't feeling adventurous, and walked to see the swans, and that was about it. Finished Spaced that evening, I guess? Haha.

We went shopping in Newport on Friday where we bought nothing but hot fresh doughnuts. We ended up going back for dinner at the Bargeman's Rest though, and it was so good!

We had to go home on Saturday which sucked as I didn't ever want to leave, but we had time to visit West Wight Alpacas before catching our ferry! Lots of alpacas and ducks and chickens and a few llamas. Loved it!

As much as I really want to go on holiday again soon, I gained like 10lbs. So perhaps I should leave it a few years, eh?
