Christmas Presents!

Been a bad blogger again, but I knew if I didn't do this post I would just leave my gifts in bags on my floor forever haha.

The first presents I opened were from Rob on Christmas Eve, a cute little owl snowglobe and some yummy chocs! He also ordered the Matte Pink Zip Suit, but it won't be here for a few weeks. Eeeeeeee!

On Christmas morning I opened my gifts from Sophie first. Felt so spoiled! Cute kitty socks, dress-up Pony mug, and Oujia-themed jewellery from Sugar & Vice

Next I opened gifts from Rob's family. His mum always spoils me like crazy, I feel so guilty Dx I got a cute penguin hat and glove set (the gloves are too small for my man hands, nuuuuuuuuu! Hoping I can chop off the thumbs and stretch them out a little), chocolate wafer straws, boot bling, nail files, chocolate coins, glittery boots, London-themed jimmies, and Harry Potter socks. The bath set is from Rob's mum's boyfriend's sister haha.

Before a big Christmas lunch (with a yummy nut roast pastry thing that dad makes every year...yummmmm) I opened gifts from my dad's side of the family. I got the Wrapped Up Reversible Skater Dress, Max Raptor CD, and some Bodyshop stuff from my grandparents, and more Bodyshop stuff and Marmozets and Reuben CDs from my aunt. I'm a bit obsessed with Marmozets already!

The last gifts I opened in the evening were from my parents. My Dr Martens weren't wrapped up after having them put back for ages, ugh! I got cup measures, some watches for work, a Hello Kitty cake/jelly mould, Hello Kitty duvet, Hello Kitty belt (which my mum didn't realise was age 7-8, so it might make a good garter? lol), Hello Kitty mug & coaster set, and 6 pairs of sale tights from Next. So I actually got a bunch of stuff I will use! Success!

Revelry Tea Party

I finally got to attend a big tea party! I was pretty excited about it since I hadn't been able to justify the extra costs in previous years.

I ended up waking up pretty early and most of the others stayed in bed late, so I had my yummy breakfast in the garden before getting ready!

I wasn't all that happy with my coord, but since Ruth and Monika were wearing Wonder Queen too I figured I'd throw something together. Bonnet, wristcuffs, & JSK are Angelic Pretty, headband is Wonder Box (that I only bought the day before!), blouse is my mum's from Tesco via a charity shop (all the class), socks are Primark, shoes are Bodyline, necklace Metamorphose, and rings from Patisserie Pink and Drop Dead.

The event was held at The RAG Army & Navy Club at Pall Mall, and it must have been the fanciest place I've ever been! The ceilings were stunning, there were beautiful paintings everywhere, and there was even a stuffed penguin!

There was a small-ish buffet and endless cups of tea, with us seated 8-10 around circular tables. It was quite cosy with all of our petticoats, but it was easy enough to chat to everyone and get more food! I ate far too many sweets though.

There were little postcards, magnets, and a badge for each person on the tables. There was also another raffle, in which I won the Swimmer stickers and some gorgeous Grimoire tights! I feel so lucky. Each of the guests also chose their favourite outfit of the day, and Lisa managed to catch someone's attention so we all cheered like fools for her!

After the tea party was over, we took lots of photos in the drawing room. This was our Frilly Flat group photo ♥

There was an afterparty too, so I changed into some Black Milk, Angelic Pretty tights, and NikeXHello Kitty sneakers for comfort.

The venue was the Roadhouse in Covent Garden, an American diner styled place with good cocktail deals early in the evening! There was a live band called White Clouds & Gunfire while we were there, and they were really good.

Sadly the music choice in the club wasn't all that good. I thought it was a rock club, but it was all Stereophonics type stuff and they didn't even have any Biffy Clyro. For shame!

We didn't stay too late which was a shame, but it was probably a good move since we had to finish packing and leave early the next day. I already miss London a ton, and hope I can afford to live there some day with some friends!

Shopping for Work...Sort Of.

On Tuesday I had to go shopping by myself as I had to throw out my work shoes! They had completely worn through at the heels and the sole was hanging off...so I threw them out and was left with no suitable shoes to wear! Obviously I ended up buying too much random stuff and eating too much junk as well, as per usual.

Random bits and bobs from Waterstones, HMV, H&M, Entertainer, & Boots! New comics (Adventure Time & Rat Queens), CDs (Dave McPherson & Bring Me The Horizon), toys, phone case, & hair dye.

Crop and shorts from H&M (I already own these shorts in a bigger size but they stretched out like crazy and won't stay up anymore), and my new work shoes! They're Slazenger ones from SoccerSports and they only cost £13.99 haha.

Aaaand obligatory Primark haul. I actually put back most of the stuff that I wanted! I can't really feel bad about buying pants and socks I guess, but I probably shouldn't have bought more vests!

I also bought fudge for Rob, Sesame Street stuff for mum, pirate socks for my bro, and chocolate for my dad. I'm so generous~ haha.

Recent Outfits

I never seem to do outfit posts, so I figured I'd do one today! These are just the photos I came across when I was getting the photos for the last post. Apologies for my dad's messy room in most of them, he has the best mirror!

This was what I wore to Longleat! I wanted to try out my Vans finally, and they somehow fit perfectly even though they're a size bigger than I would usually wear. Also dug out this super old Helly Kitty shirt that I bought in M&S 5 years ago! The cardigan is from New Look, shorts from H&M, and socks from Primark. I wear these socks a ton.

This was an outfit for a lazy Tuesday spent finishing reading A Storm Of Swords part 1. I later stuck on some black platform sneakers to go over Rob's, but I didn't get a photo! Top is H&M, skirt is Black Milk, tights are Primark.

This was a post-work lazy outfit for going for a walk to buy bananas with my mum and brother. Hat and dress are H&M, socks Topshop, shoes I have no idea!

Lastly, my outfit for a day out shopping. I wore a very similar outfit for a family barbecue too. Hat, vest, and shorts are H&M, shirt is Primark, tights are from Ebay, socks are Topshop, and shoes are New Look. Did you guess my favourite high-street store yet?

I find it strange that my style in and out of lolita are so different! How cohesive is your personal style?

Christmas & New Year

Christmas was a bit naff this year due to exam and essay and presentation stress, but it was nice to take a bit of time off from that and see my family.

I made some awesome Christmas cakes...

I also got a whole bunch of CDs as gifts!

Only a couple of Hello Kitty items...(although I'm tempted to get Hello Kitty Vans in the sales)

And also a princess Cadence ♥

This year I guess I actually have new year's resolutions for once, off the back of what has been one of the crappiest years of my life. Looking back now it doesn't seem so bad though as all the crappy stuff feels like forever ago already! Here they are:

  • Get fit! I used to go for a walk every day until the Summer, and I've only been once since I moved back here. I love walks, but I guess they've become associated with wanting to get out of the shithole I was living in. Plus the weather has been pants and it gets dark too early. But I'd like to walk lots again so I can get fit enough to run again.
  • Give blood, even if it is only the once. I have to wait a while because of my tattoo though, so I guess I'll have to do it before the next one.
  • Make fewer bad decisions, and hopefully better mistakes. Because everyone makes mistakes, right?
  • Stop being so damn naive. I'll definitely be trying to not trust men, because every time I think I've made an awesome new friend they draw me in and then try take advantage, and when I turn them down they ditch me instantly. It blows and I really don't want to fall for it again.

To end on a lighter note, I did a little look around the sales and fell in love with this dress.

I'd seen the fabric before and loved it, but it was a long pleated dress which was a horrid style that wouldn't have suited me at all. They had a bunch of those, but this one was nestled in the middle. I tried it on thinking it wouldn't fit as their sizes generally run small and it was XS, but it fits like a glove. Hooray for growing sizes! It's all floaty and layered and lovely, the photo really doesn't do it justice.

Here's hoping I get through the rest of this month's stress!.

And hope everyone had a great end of year, of course!

Small Lolita & Fairy-Kei Haul!

I have pretty much stopped buying lolita clothes as I don't really get many chances to dress up at the moment, and I have far too many clothes anyway. BUT when I saw one of my dream dresses at auction (one I'd narrowly missed buying in the Angelic Pretty sale) I couldn't resist buying it!

My gorgeous Moon Night Theater pleated JSK in wine!

The details are amazing, from the custom AP lace to the glittery golden thread and soft ribbons.

My only problems with it are that the pleats mess up easily (this dress already needs an iron after wearing it just once), and I also max it out as there is no shirring. So I guess I should cut down on the cakes.

To make my order with my shopping service seem more worthwhile, I bought a few other things too. Unfortunately I got scammed on one item (a cotton candy sweater from Milklim - gutted as I've always wanted one of those sweaters!).

A silly OTT furry jacket from Angelic Pretty! I have no idea what I'll wear it with, but the price was good and it's just so silly I couldn't not buy it. All the lace is detachable and amazing quality. I'd love to try a hime outfit with it, but that would require doing my hair and make-up properly xP

Swimmer shoes! I haven't tried them on yet, but they should be fine. I thought they'd be cute for fairy-kei style outfits.

And lastly, a long Milklim top. I wasn't majorly keen on it when I bought it, I just really wanted to own some Milklim as it's easily one of my favourite clothing brands. However upon seeing it in real life, I love it!

The colours and details are so cute. It's more shapeless than I'd thought it'd be though, but I'll have fun making some coords with it.

Not from Japan, but I figured I'd add these here anyway - a cute panda purse from New Look. It's pretty tiny and a bit crushed already, but pandas are so cute xP

And these were from Asda. The Hello Kitty pencil was 37p and the Monster High case was 75p! I was annoyed though as there was supposed to be a 75p MH notebook too, but they were sold out. And Asda had tons of cool stuff I wanted but couldn't buy as I was with mum (they had dollymix ponies (the G3 kind!), and Cupid).

I also have a few non-cutesy clothing purchases I'll share in a seperate post tomorrow =]

Recent Purchases~

Well since my bank balance is finally in positive figures again after the whole being-attacked-by-lots-of-bills-at-once fiasco, I’ve been treating myself a little! All these things arrived today! I also have a package to pick up from the Post Office (not happy about this...don’t see why they can’t redeliver like the usually do and the Post Office is well out of my way =/).

First there’s this Hello Kitty X M.A.C. blush. I really wanted the bright pink one but they all go for so much on eBay now they’re sold out. I kinda wanted the light lilac lipstick too, but no such luck! But this is still way better than my old blush which is really cheap rubbish I’ve had for about 10 years (as a child I was very resistant to my family’s attempts at introducing me to make-up!).

Aaaaand another Muse tee! This is my fourth now bahaha.

My gorgeous tight-lacing corset! Need to figure out how to lace it properly and like what the hell I’m supposed to wear it with (I really don’t think things through before buying things...)

And *pan pan paaaaan~* my Vivienne Westwood bustier! I really shouldn’t have bought this beauty though as I have no idea what to wear it with. I’d wanted the black velvet one but when this came up in my size (or so I thought) I snapped it up. Unfortunately at an 8 it’s a little tight. I can get it on but it really squeezes my boobs! Also I get a really unattractive muffin top, but that’s pretty much unavoidable with stuff like this since all my flab seems to congregate there to have a blubber party or something.

(My boobs actually hang out more than in this pic...I couldn't get the back done up at first LOL)

Any ideas of what to wear it with? I’d originally planned to wear a black blouse under it but there’s no way one would fit under it! I’m having a hard time thinking of anything that would stop me from looking like a hussy!

Meanwhile I am giving up on this trying to eat healthily. I’ll still track my calories just so I can see where I go wrong and stuff, but eating 1600 or under is just seeming impossible and so gaining weight is inevitable for now!...plus I bought more Skittles today (though I put them in the fridge so I can’t eat the whole lot in one go coz they’ll be too hard to eat loads of and also I’m probably too lazy to go downstairs to get them) and also a Creme Egg because they’re only 25p in Sainsbug’s right now!

Okie-doke that’s it for now since I should probably at least define some terms and skim over my notes before bed since I only have until Monday morning to learn this stuff (and Biological Psychology is HARD). Though if I do get my package I may post that up too =P
