Splurging on BLACK

Been feeling really low again recently, which means more impromptu shopping sprees. Ugh, I'm useless! I wish internet shopping wasn't a thing, it's so easy to get sucked in!


I also did a little shopping after getting my tattoo, which obviously means changing-room outfit selfies! I think my Death By Disco Straps Skater Dress is one of my favourites, so easy to wear! And coordinates with my bloody tattoo!


Here is my little Primark haul. I accidentally tried on the sheer shiny top in a 6 (I thought it was an S) & it wasn't super tiny, so I risked an 8. Yet to try it on yet though! The cardigan is so soft, and the other things are beachwear that I intend on just wearing. Could have done with a smaller size for those, but they were out of stock (I swear Primark sizing has gotten bigger).


This is an early birthday present from mum which I had to buy myself, a cheapie rose perfume from M&S. It was discounted for Valentine's Day too, so it was only £4.80 for 30ml. Had I realised this beforehand I'd have gotten the 100ml. It smells yummy, but the bottle is super boring.


When I got home after going over Rob's house, I found my first surprise gift from a fellow Sharkie - some yummy tea and a Finn plush, aahhhh! ♥


My New Look order arrived a few days ago too. I ordered the bralet in 2 sizes, and predictably the 10 fits more comfortably but has super saggy cups so I'm keeping the 8 and hoping I can shift some flab from my ribs. The strap detailing on both sides is so awesome though, and I love that my piercings peek through the lace! The rings & tights were sales cheapies, hoping to accessorise more this year as I'm rubbish!


Next is my Urban Outfitters order. Sadly I will be returning this bralet too. I ordered an M and again the cups are too big, even though the rest fits nicely. I guess I could wear a super padded bra under it, but I am a C/D cup? The stock photo it is being worn as actual bra? Wtf? Like I know I look flat but still. It looks cheaper than I'd hoped anyway though. But I should get good use from the tattoo choker as I wear my plain one all the time, and I couldn't resist naughty socks. I want to wear them to work a lot!


Asos order is up next (they sent me the right stuff this time!). I only realised when it arrived that the Primark beach dress I bought is almost exactly the same as this Asos one! The Asos one is nicer but is way too oversized, so I will be exchanging it. The fishnet thing is ankle socks, I thought they were quirky, and one can never have too many thigh-highs (how have I lived without striped ones?). The Religion kimono is something I'd been eyeing up for a long time, and I made this order as a panic buy as only size M was left (now sold out completely)! It was pretty expensive but massively reduced, and my grandparents are claiming it as birthday present so pretty win-win there. Not sure how I'll wear it, but I've wanted a kimono for ages and those praying skeletons are just awesome.

I think I've found my style finally though, and that style is all black everything. Kind of bordering on the 'health goth' bullcrap which is worrying, but eh whatever.

Now to wait impatiently for my Dollskill order!

Little Shopping Spree...Oops!

Since Rob was ill I found myself with a free day, so I figured I'd head back into Bristol again.


I always dress boring when shopping...


I saw a Pinkie I don't own in T.K.Maxx, but she was a bit battered and out of battery and not worth £20. I also fell in love with boots but they only had sizes 37 and 39 and I needed a 38. Typical!


I finally had the McDonald's I'd been craving for months, and it was the worst one I've ever eaten! So cold. Ew.


...yup.


I tried these shoes on in New Look and decided I'd never wear them. I wish I'd bought them now though as they were surprisingly comfortable, in the sale, and the last pair in the store =[


I picked up the New Look order I made ages ago. It hadn't arrived in time for me to pick up on Saturday which was annoying. I'm not sure about keeping the clutch at all as it's entirely useless, but it's adorably stupid! Also annoying is the fact that the garterbelt has a gross green stain on the back, but as it was a sale item I can only be given sale credit if I return it >=/ hopefully it washes out, but really unimpressed. The cat car freshener is for Rob haha (well, for his car).


I love love love these shoes in H&M, but I can't decide if I should get the red velvet ones (cuter) or the black ones (more practical).


Other junk! H&M tops I tried on a few weeks back, a Nyan Cat deckbox for Rob for Christmas, Lemongrab card case, sale Rainbow Power Fashion Pinkie Pie, Royal Blood 7" (for Dad's birthday), Jamie Lenman 7", signed copy of Dry The River's album, and a Billy Talent album. I also got some Mars bars to store in case of tattoos, chocolate Hobnobs, and a big bag of marshmallows!


The tops when I tried them on before. I know they'll be in the sale soon enough, but S always sells out first so I grabbed them now anyway. I mean, they're totally me, right? I'll be getting more stuff from the sale anyway hopefully...

My big disappointments were that one of my main goals was to buy thick OTK socks in Primark as I saw some in the Bath store recently, but I couldn't find them anywhere. I did find cute fox tights, but I didn't want to queue for one thing that I hadn't expressly gone out to buy (other than the music everything else I got today was on my list). I also couldn't find the USA Pro bottoms I own (they're too big and I wanted to buy a smaller size), and nowhere sold cheap birthday cards (mum wanted me to buy some for her). Boo! At least I wasn't sat at home bored all day though.

Limited & Museum Gets

If you are a follower of Black Milk you will know that recently a whole bunch of stuff was taken off the site, never to return! As such I got in one last limited order and picked up a few bits in the museum release too. I can't link pages this time as these items haven't been added to the museum yet!


This was my limited order! I finally took the plunge and got some shooters, although they look horrid on me as I'm too short and probably should have sized down. These are the Ravenclaw Shooter and Black Milk Shooter. I also finally bought the Party God BFT fromt the Adventure Time collection. I had to size down as my size was sold out (and I knew not to size up as my Gunter one was way too big!), and it fits but isn't as baggy as I'd have liked unfortunately! I might try to size swap it.


I got a Gunter drawing with my museum release order =P


And here are the items I scored! The Princess Bubblegum Scoop Skater I had to buy a size too big as I was too slow to snag my usual size. It's actually a lot more comfortable due to this, but not as flattering and a little big Dx On the other hand, my Highlighter Gym gear I bought in usual size and it's TINY. Which is annoying as it said to size down if you wanted it tight. Doesn't really encourage me to go out running when I'm too fat to wear it! Hopefully I can slim into it eventually though. I really preferred the plainer versions (the ones I got are too LOUD), but I thought a size up would be too big and so didn't go for it. DAMNIT haha.

While nothing fit how I'd have liked, I'm still reasonably happy with my purchases. I didn't want to miss out on owning something Ravenclaw from the Harry Potter collection, and I wanted gym gear specifically for running which I can still use despite hating how it looks on me! I should probably not buy anything else for a while though, especially since my second Battle Of The Kings package seems to be stuck in customs!

Witch, Please! Time for Adventure~

The second half of my Witch Please order finally got here! It managed to skip customs which was lucky.


Little haul! All of these pieces are ones that I impulse bought and probably shouldn't have.


Peacock Scoop Skater Dress was $85 ($47.17). I love peacocks, but I wasn't sure about the colours of this piece. Luckily I quite like it on, and it's so comfortable! I think I prefer the scoop cut over reversible, even if it has less wearing options.


The nana suit was my reason for ordering as I've wanted to try one for a while. This Galaxy Blue Nana Top was $40 (£22.20). Luckily it fits well! I was worried it would be small after the velvet crop was way too small despite being the same size.


Of course, I got the Galaxy Blue Nana Bottoms to match. They were $45 (£24.97), and also fit okay! However the suit makes me look like a square as it really doesn't suit my body shape.


I'd been eyeing the Ice King & Gunter Dress for a long time as I loooove Gunter! I wanted the swim really, but it was sold out. I finally decided to get this as XS was low stock, and it's now sold out! I have no idea how to wear it though as I feel really uncomfortable in bodycon dresses. I guess I can tuck it up and wear it as a top? It was pretty expensive though at $95 (£52.72).

My most recent order should be here soon (another impulse buy when I was feeling especially down), but it got caught in customs! I hope I still have enough money for the Battle of the Kings collection!

More Black Milk Skaters!

I made another direct order! It was so hard whittling down my wishlist to an affordable level. I'm probably going to make another order as soon as my next paycheck gets in. It's an addiction, I fear.

I placed the order on the 14th March UK time, and it was shipped on the 17th. Customs hit me, but it was just over £30 which I didn't think was too bad. At least I was expecting it this time! It got to me on the 31st, after a 'sorry we missed you' lie from Royal Mail.

Tartan Red Skater Skirt - $50 (£27.31)


This was my main reason for ordering. I love tartan a lot, and I love skater skirts, so when this was released I was filled with want.


Velvet Black Skater Skirt - $60 (£32.77)


I was torn between this velvet piece and the burned velvet version, but since I already own this one in wine and know how lovely it is, I decided to get this one (first). Can you believe I didn't own a plain black skirt until now? I will surely wear this a lot.


Adventure Time Bro Ball Reversible Skater Dress - $95 (£51.88)


I also finally caved and bought this dress that I'd been eyeing since the Adventure Time collection was released. I really wish I'd bought the Princess Bubblegum one when I had the chance so I could have the full Adventure Time skater set. Hopefully one day!

I also made an order for some of the Game Of Thrones collection, so I'm looking forward to its arrival! I started watching the show again in the hopes that I will finally bring myself to finish reading A Clash Of Kings haha.

BMO Scoop Skater Dress - $95 (£51.88)


I got this off Ebay from a girl I know for just under £45. It was a total impulse buy and I regretted it immediately as it's expensive for a random purchase and it was never a piece I particularly loved...but I love it now! The colour is great, and I saved quite a bit by buying second hand!


Barbie Spewed On me Cap Sleeve Bodysuit - ? Museum Piece


This was an even bigger impulse buy from Ebay, for £40 which was much higher than I had intended to bid! I was actually considering buying this a while back though, so it's nice to actually have it, even if it will be quite difficult to wear (it's pretty tight so bra shows through real bad haha). Should be great for summer though, if the weather ever picks up!

Must stop buying so much Black Milk...but I know that won't happen. I have 2 orders on the way!

More Black Milk, & Sales!

I figured I'd post up some recent buys since I'm being so slow with the wardrobe post (so much to sort out!).

First up, my most recent Black Milk order!


I placed the order a few days after the Cyber Monday sale items were put up, on the 11th of December. A lot of the things I was considering sold out straight away, so I just bought something random as I wanted to see what the leggings were like without paying full price. The packs arrived on the 3rd of January.


This skirt wasn't in the sale, but I'd been eyeing it for a while and it was only around £27! I really love it. The print is great, the cut is flattering (longer at the back so I don't have to flash my buns!), and I'll probably wear it a ton. I want to get a bunch more skater skirts and dresses, but they're pretty expensive for what they are (especially with customs (around £6 for this item) and £8 Royal Mail fee with every order!).


The leggings were a sale item, at around £32. I have no idea now why I chose these as I'm not a hot pink person at all! I'm a little disappointed as the material is a little see-through so I could see my pants through them =[ They're also too long for me, and take some bobbing about to get into as they're ridiculously small unstretched. You can't really see in the photo, but the sparkly print is multicoloured. I'm not sure that I'll use them much, but I'd probably lose too much money by selling them.


I also picked up the Gunter shirt a while back for around £33. I'm a little disappointed with the fabric as it is thin and you can pretty much see straight through it, but I still adore it because GUNTER. I also bought a size up as the site said to if you wanted it baggy or to wear as a dress, but it's freaking huge and still not long enough to be a dress so I wish I'd stuck to my usual size.

I had been tempted to buy more during the Museum Release, but everything I wanted sold out too quickly.


I also picked up these things yesterday in the sales. I wanted a matching underwear set but there was only one of each bra and only one colour of pants, and the blue bra was ridiculously small (and H&M sizes are crazy and make no sense!). Turns out the pants are ridiculously big too (they usually run small so I thought they'd be tight if anything, ugh). The set only cost £10 though, and it's so sparkly and awesome! I'll use them anyway. The fluffy thing is a £4 hip flask from Urban Outfitters. I hate that store as the staff are rude and I get dogged up whenever I go there, but I wanted it for a while!

Black Milk x Adventure Time

I was excited as soon as this collection was announced, but it took me a while to convince myself to part with that much money! Unfortunately I was too slow to get the Gunter BFT (waiting impatiently for the restock), but in the end I plumped for the LSP skater dress as it matches stuff I already own colourwise. It was a really tough decision choosing just one piece, and I had no idea what size I would need either!


I made my order on the 15th and decided to pay the extra for 'better' postage, bringing my order total to $113AUD (around £62). It wasn't shipped until the 21st and first 'delivery attempt' (in which they didn't even ring the bloody doorbell) was on the 26th. So you can imagine how irritated I am at paying the extra when it wasn't really any quicker, AND UPS are dickbags who held my package ransom for £25.57 CASH ONLY. So I had to withdraw money and buy junk food I didn't want to get the exact change, and only £14 of that was VAT anyway. So basically I'm skint as shit now and will never EVER use UPS again. The free shipping option skips through VAT checks which is a bloody joke.

Supreme irritation aside...

First glance! Came with a big sticker and a little business card.


It looked tiny when I spread it out, so I'm glad I chanced S rather than XS (my measurements were closer to XS than S, but my bust would be pushing it). Upon trying it on, I don't think the fit could be better. It is still too tight on my bust despite me being smaller than the listed measurements (not uncomfortable, but flattens my chest a bit which isn't great as I don't have a lot there anyway!), and the waist is only the tiniest bit too big. It's also still pretty short which is great as I was worried it'd be long on me.


To be honest the print colours don't look great up close (you can see the pigments), but I guess I'm used to different fabrics and lolita prints which are of very high quality.


Aaand the cute-ass Adventure Time labels!

While the bottom of the skirt isn't hemmed, I'm pretty impressed with how the fabric feels and the general construction. I'll definitely order from them again if I have the money and they come up with more prints I want to own!


Excuse rubbish photos! Just wanted to show the fit in case anyone was considering getting it too. Also want to try to get Lime Crime's Airborne Unicorn lipstick as it must be a perfect colour match!
