Lolita Blog Carnival: What's Next On Your Lolita Wishlist?

This week's Lolita Blog Carnival concerns something I am really really bad at...planning purchases! I have a tendency to just grab things on a whim whether or not I'm likely to wear it!

In terms of things I need...more chiffon blouses. They're so much comfier than other kinds, and look more elegant since they don't have the huge peter pan collars prevalent in the blouses I own thus far. However, I find it difficult to spend £30+ on a blouse, especially when I can't try them on beforehand as I've had some really ill-fitting ones in the past! But one in wine red, offwhite, and black would be nice.


I have been eyeing this one from Dear Celine for a while.

As for main pieces, I'm pretty tempted by Angelic Pretty's upcoming Crystal Dream Carnival since carousel prints are kind of my thing.


However I think it will be released during Glastonbury weekend, so I will have no chance of getting it! Probably for the best as it's the OP I want, and it's too flashy to be of much use in my wardrobe.

Window Shopping!

Today I had to go out to buy groceries anyway and the weather was actually okay (between bursts of rain), so I thought I'd wander around town to make up for staying in for days. I'd gone with the intention of buying a pony or Monster High doll, but there weren't any in either of the shops that sell them TAT

Instead, I thought I'd try on lots of clothes! Which was a pretty silly idea because I'm on a shopping ban and I've actually been keeping to it this time. But it's fun to try on things that you normally wouldn't consider.

I tried on a few things from the kid's section in H&M.


This skirt was so cute and only £6, but it looks lumpy and odd on. I think I might buy it if I get to go on holiday this summer though! I haven't added worn photos of the shorts as they gave bad muffin tops, which is annoying as I really need some black ones. They are the same as my pink ones so I *could* stretch them out, but they'd still be too muffin-y and I have lots of cropped and tight-fitting tops for Summer, so not ideal. I think I'll try the adult black shorts next time, as although the material was rough and not nice they were only £8 and they should fit better.

The other store I went into (twice, actually) was New Look.


They're my favourite by far at the moment with all their adorable pastels and stripes!


I love this top from the children's section, so Summery and a cute colour! I felt like my belly was too podgy for it though.




This dress is amaaaaazing! The lady in the changing rooms pounced on it when I was handing it to her, she wanted to know why I wasn't buying it xP I do love it, but it's £28 and I'm not sure it looks right on me due to my height. But if it's ever in the sale I'll have to snap it up. It looks more odd in the photos than in real life because of the camera angle.


Pastel dip-dye *drools* This cardigan reminds me of watermelons! At £22 it was too expensive though as the material was thin and not very soft. But another to wait for in the sale, definitely.


I never thought I'd be able to get away with wearing a skirt like this as it's quite long, but I was pleasantly surprised! The only thing stopping me from buying it is the fact that it isn't lined, which makes it quite see-through due to the floaty and light material. So I'd have to buy a slip on top of the £22 for the skirt. But once again, if it's in the sale...


Last two items I tried together! The skirt fits terribly as it's too small on my hips and too long, but I think I prefer the striped shorts anyway (which I would have bought before but shopping ban and I own so many pairs of shorts). The top though...it's not my usual thing at all as it barely covers anything, but I thought it looked cool. It was also cheap enough for me to allow myself to buy it (£13). I'm not 100% sure about keeping it as I don't know what I could wear it with and I know I'll get honked at and abuse shouted at me when wearing it, but ♥


So my window shopping was a bit of a fail, but it could have been worse! I spent almost as much in Sainsbury's on boring things like margarine and toilet roll afterwards haha.

Coveted Cuties ~ Wonder Story, Twilight Circus & Night of the Masquerade

This month is going to hell for many lolitas who don't have cash...or so is my prediction.

I personally am still reeling from the Chess Chocolate fiasco, where the new rules meant I lost my chance at reservation and missed out on the print entirely. My chances of buying second hand are currently zero since everyone's hiked the prices up so much. Stupid how they changed the rules to avoid prats buying for resale, but I think it just made the matter much worse.


Anywho, on to the new prints!

ANGELIC PRETTY


I've loved Wonder Story ever since I first saw photos on Tumblr. The colours are gorgeous...I would love the red as I know the colour suits me and it's pretty unusual for Angelic Pretty. The powdery blue is so elegant and delicate too. Everything about this print fills me with want as I adore books, and I suspect a pink book bag will follow the release which is really exciting as I really want one of those things. However I wouldn't be able to decide between colours or styles even if I had the money (which I don't). Going to have to be one to put on the long-term goals list.

Alice and the Pirates


Alice and the Pirates's Twilight Circus is up for reserve this week, and the style of that middle JSK is so awesome! I love the piratey/military edge. However, I'm not convinced by the print or the colourways. Leaning towards the brown, but the skirt part would be white and that wouldn't last long. Which is a shame, because it's the only colourway in which the print looks tasteful! While the burgendy shade is kinda nice too, the black just looks awful, and that OP is a total trainwreck! I think this is one to admire from a distance for now until I see better pictures.

Metamorphose


I've probably mentioned numerous times already that I am not a fan of Metamorphose. However, Night of the Masquerade has me eating my words. I love everything about this! Again with a military edge (which now makes all 3 of these brands putting out military designs in the past month) which offsets the frills and bows nicely. The colour and print are really nice too. The only thing stopping me from getting it (other than money) is the brand I'm afraid...I've had too many non-fitting Metamorphose pieces to risk it right now.


The only other thing I have to report is my despair at failing to get the Swan Lake JSK that I found an auction for. The seller blocked all the bids put in by my shopping services bid IDs. The dress is unsold, but I can't afford to start using a different shopping service. Obviously I'm a little upset, this was my original dream item and now I'm missing out on such a rare piece! Also since I already paid a ton of money to my SS and getting a refund would lose money through currency conversion and Paypal fees, I'm likely to fritter it away on crap I'd have otherwise not bought and spend even more money I don't have. Maybe someone should take the internet away from me =|

Lolita 30 ~ Day 5 ~ Lolita Wishlist

Going to focus on dream items that I don't currently own =] In no particular order.

Day 5 – 10 items from your wishlist.

1.
Angelic Pretty's Sugary Carnival! I have the skirt in black and JSK in pink, but I'd love the JSK in black and sax too! Total dream print.

2.
Metamrphose's Swan Lake high-waist skirt in black. This is the print that won me over. If I had never seen it I probably wouldn't have even started wearing lolita and I wouldn't have been as interested in it.

3.
Angelic Pretty's Holy Night Story switching JSK in green. It is pretty hard to get hold of so I had to settle for Offwhite which is still gorgeous, but I love this colour so much.

4.
Innocent World's Antique Book Bag. It wouldn't go with anything I own, but I adore it so.

5.
Vivienne Westwood Rocking Horse Shoes! Not sure which colour...either white or black. Probably black actually as I have white Montreal ones.


6.
Angelic Pretty's Milky Planet in sax (although I love it in yellow too). Because when it came out it was like the new Sugary Carnival haha.

Angelic Pretty's Wonder Party in black. It's sweet, but more mature than most of the stuff I like!

Baby, The Stars Shine Bright's L'Oiseau Bleu in mint. Because the colours are gorgeous.

Alice And The Pirate's Kuro Neko No Dance JSK in bordeaux. I loved it the moment I saw it but can't fnd it anywhere! I love ths colour, I think it'd suit me too. The halter style is darling.

Baby, The Stars Shine Bright's Royal Velveteen Antique JSK in royal green, because it's one of my favourite colours on one of my favourite fabrics and looks so elegant!
