Urban Outfitters and y no me gusta

Yesterday I went into Urban Outfitters for the first time ever. I was hoping they would have Jeffrey Campbells so I could find out what size I am and thus order some Litas. No joy there, but I did fall in love with the clothes a little. Baggy jumpers? Denim shorts? Quirky shoes? Yes please!

I saw a few things I wanted but decided to leave them and think it over, and then go back today to try them on and decide then (taking lots of photos in the pricess, which are at the bottom of this entry bahahahaha).

Now today, I find my experience very different. Yesterday the place was practically empty. Today, it was full of girls. All were about 5 years younger than me and were dressed EXACTLY THE SAME AS EACH OTHER. As if that wasn't creepy enough, they all gave me the hairy eyeball the whole time I was there, and I felt very much as if I didn't fit in. Not very welcoming!

A pastel jumper caught my eye, and I was really happy because I never have luck finding fairy-kei jumpers. But it was like £60! The brand new Angelic Pretty dress I was wearing cost less than that. Ridiculous!

So I made my way to the sale section, feeling a bit bummed out and uncomfortable. Turns out the jumper I wanted wasn't available in my size. I tried it on anyway, but it was just too big =[ I tried two tees as well, but couldn't really decide on one. Also when I took it back off a huge chunk of my hair got caught in the security tag. I was so worried about breaking my hair or the tab! Would have been mortifying to walk out of the changing rooms in my bloomers to get them to take the tag off to free me Dx luckily I escaped, but my hair isn't too happy. The other tee I liked, but it was a little big. I checked back on the table anyway, and turns out there was an S lurking underneath something else! I hope it fits. I didn't want to go back and try something again!

But I emerged from the changing rooms (which were stupidly gloomy, as you can probably tell), with my coat now hanging open just to rub in the fact that I was the only person in the building who was uniquely dressed. I only survived that place because I've learnt to do my 'bitch walk' in such places when on my own. I put on my bitch face and swagger around as if I own the place. No one will mess with you if you have that attitude =P

I bought my tee, and the guy on till ignored me for about a minute when I was stood there in front of the tills, too shy to interrupt his pointless fidgetting with stuff behind there. Again, not welcoming. And when he did ring up my purchases, he was SO SLOW! Ugh.

After that I got the hell out of there, still getting glares as I went. Well screw you guys!

I'd like to say I won't go back there, but I'm gonna watch that pastel jumper like a hawk until it goes into the sale. ^_^'

Here's the jumper that was too big. I know it's meant to be oversized, but it just didn't feel right. There was a nicer jumper that was more red too, but they only had that in L!

This is the tee I put back. It was marked O/S, so I guess it's one size. It was actually a lot wider than it looks in this pic. I'm tempted to go back and get it though as it was only a tenner (ik still kinda expensive haha) and it would be great for Discord, Hallowe'en and for just lounging around in. I'm a little too short to pull it off well though. Thoughts?

Here's me in the tee I bought! Reaaaaaally baggy.

And here's actual one I bought, which was a size smaller than the one I tried.

And outfit shots, because I can. Decided to keep this dress now. Just found that you can make the straps longer, which should sort out my issues. If not, I can get my gran to add corsetting so the waist doesn't flap about so much.

Have a lot to do this evening! I am going to a meet tomorrow and I still haven't picked out an outfit (although I have already bought my lunch...what). I also need to shower, pretty up (nails etc), figure out what to do with my hair tomorrow, and other such things. I just want to eat and play WOW Dx

Parting

I’m guessing it would be odd to ask someone I’ve barely exchanged two words with out for a drink, wouldn’t it? Since they are moving away and seem like the kind of person I’d get on really well with. Not that I’d be able to do that, since I was unable to go to today’s department barbeque with people I’ve known a little for two years despite having looked forward to it for months. (Damn my shyness and not wanting to intrude. I have done so before and have had fun, but I still can’t help but feel that people don’t want me around them, not helped by the fact that I never get invited to anything...)

Feel kind of sad that everyone is going home for Summer, especially since some people I will never see again and others I won’t see for a whole year because of placements. I also feel lost now exams are over...I’d been looking forward so much to finishing and now I have nothing to look forward to. I don’t even know what to do with my free time. There are a few books I want to read, but other than that I can’t think of anything.

Currently sat on my bed feeling really tired and a little lonely and rejected. My own fault I suppose, but still. Life isn’t fair xP

My first burando

Supposed to be sleeping after not having done any revision for a few days in order to be rested up for all-out revision for the next week, but distractions and awakeness bring me here instead. I had been trying to find a nice photo to use on here...with no success. Instead I stumbled across old item photos.

I was always a total bargain hunter so I never thought I'd own brand because buying from Bodyline was major splashing out at the time. I was the kind of person who would never buy anything that cost more than £15...and would begrudge paying that. Unfortunately that person is long gone now!

I stumbled across this Angelic Pretty skirt on eBay for £40 and I pounced on it. I probably should have given it more thought but I didn't think I would find anything for that price again (this was before I discovered the livejournal community, many moons ago).

It isn't a piece I've worn much, I must admit...I was disappointed when it arrived as the material is discoloured and it was covered in animal hair. The reason I have only worn it once is that the material is heavy and it flattens my poor petticoats. However I recently saw a coord with this skirt and I definitely think I'll dig it out when Winter comes around again. I ought to cherish it more.

...Well technically it wasn't my first brand piece - I already owned an Alice and the Pirates cardigan but it is not lolita style in the slightest. Also Angelic Pretty was almost instantly my favourite brand and has been ever since, so I suppose that is why it sticks out more in my memory.

Looking back it seems really strange that it has only been a year and a half that I have been wearing lolita. The time seems to have gone very quickly and yet it seems like it was longer ago!

Only a week now until my second year of university ends, and so I will try to blog more then. And about more interesting things. Planned posts. That have structure. Yes. The future.

NEWWWW WEAPONS!

So today I finally went to the Post Office to pick up my parcel. Unlike any Post Office I’ve ever seen O_O it was huge and I had to take a ticket and none of the options corresponded to what I needed...ended up pressing the wrong button and being skipped to the front of the queue! Luckily the lady was really nice and I obviously looked sufficiently clueless to not get in trouble.

Stupid celga sent it by EMS when I asked for small packet. So it cost more to post...and they also ignored my note asking that they send the Kera magazine they have held back for me. I never will get to see that magazine.

Sooo Angelic Pretty headbow first up. No idea how I am supposed to use it...but I was in desperate need of a BxW headbow so I snapped it up anyway.

Here is my pretty Metamorphose embroidered JSK! It ended costing more than I had expected, but really like it. There is a waist-tie button missing though and the replacement button is also missing =/ Anyone know where I can find small white fabric-covered buttons? Oh, and there is supposed to be a bow on it. I only noticed it was missing when I had already bought it.

I had my Biological Psychology exam this morning. It did not go very well as none of the areas I revised well came up. I ended up writing one whole essay that had pretty much nothing in it apart from ‘err yeh, anterior cingulate cortex does error-related negativity’ because I could not for the life of me remember any of the cognitive control stuff! (Well I knew all the working memory bits of it but that did not come up). The language and emotion essays I wrote were not great either, but I hope I did okay! After that I went to pick up my research project feedback...but the department somehow lost mine. No one else’s, only mine. Joy. So I have no idea how I did in that!

Also had a little look around the shops after picking up my parcel as I had not done so in a long while. Went in New Look for some two-tone socks but there were none to be found. I ended up getting these shorts.

Aren’t they adorable?! I do not have anything to wear with them though xP I wanted to buy an usamimi headband too since I have been wanting one for years, but the nice ones were £5 which is pretty steep for something like that. Hoping they will still be there in the sale so I can buy one...one of them went pretty well with the shorts! And another had birds all over it <3 Might hint heavily to my boyfriend about them mwahahaha.

Not sure what to do with myself now. I should be revising for my remaining exams but I feel I deserve the afternoon off. The weather is horrid too which doesn’t exactly fill me with motivation! So probably going to watch Dr Who unless I am struck by inspiration.

And also try to figure out whether to buy things or not! I had planned to buy a few things in the Muse sale but the nice ladies hoodie is not in the sale even though the male version of it is. I would just buy the male one but even the smallest size would be massive. The hoodie that is in the sale isn't that great. But still tempted, I could do with a new hoodie. Also I am tempted by some replicas. I don't even like replicas, but I cannot afford brand at the moment (well, it is more like my bf will murder me for wasting my money on clothes when he does not have any money). I'd like the sax Sugary Carnival JSK, yellow or lilac Milky Planet JSK (haven't decided), red carousel JSK and Gertrude (skirt has pretty ruffles but I like it in blue and the JSK would be easier to coord so undecided). But then I think...I could buy a brand piece or two with that money. Thoughts?

Shrek Forever After

Just watched it for the first time. I was expecting it to be rubbish but it was actually pretty good! Despite being a blatant It's a Wonderful Life rip-off haha. Nice to see Fiona being a good character again...even if she does go back to being a lame-ass one =/

FAT PUSS IS FAT
Kinda got to me a bit though, the whole 'You don't realise what you've got until it's gone' message was a little jarring. Am I expecting/asking too much in my life? Might I be making mistakes that I'll later regret?

But I guess there's no way of knowing until you've lost it all and desperately want it back. I've made that mistake before (but he turned out to be gay anyway so at least I can say it was inevitable). I don't want to make that mistake again. But...sometimes you have to take chances, or you'll never get the things you want!

Gah I've become so self-centred when I used to be selfless. But I was fed up of being a doormat because that never worked for me either (although it did work a little better as I had a best friend bossing we around which is better than not having one haha).
