New Room

Today I moved back to the city to get ready for the upcoming uni year. I'm living with 3 second-year girls who are all best buddies and on the same course, so trying to muscle in on the friendship group won't be easy. But I don't want things to be as awful as last year, so I'll try!


This is the view from my window! The train station. So I hear the trains go by, but it isn't as loud as I thought it'd be. Quite relaxing really, and interesting to watch all the commuters!

My room is the smallest, but means it's the cheapest. And it certainly feels a lot bigger than last year's room (though this is helped by the high ceilings and lots of storage space).


Biiiig bookshelves! Last year I didn't have my own shelves (well there was a bookcase for me outside my room but someone had already filled it with their crappy DVDs by the time I moved in even though they had their own bookcase). I don't actually have any of my textbooks yet so it's pretty empty.


Desk, which is messy already somehow. Finally got to put up my pony calendar =3 And you can also see my Blackened Sky double-vinyl which arrived before I did (I adore it so much!).


Tiny little drawers. They look really cute but they barely fit my hairbrush and accessories in. When I go home next I'll take all the empty bags with me and bring a mirror to go on top of them.

PINKIE PIE SHELF! They're not even all on there yet. And my bed and the biiiiig built-in closet. There are two rails in there, one behind the other. The only downside is that I have to stand on my pillow to reach anything that's in there. I'm planning to replace the shower curtain with a nice purple net curtain I've had for a while but never used.

And that's my new room! So much nicer than my old one. It even has double glazing, and no noisy boiler!

New Shelves!

I actually asked for a new bookshelf for Christmas, but we only just got one Dx

So I thought I'd share it!

Turns out I have a lot fewer books and things than I thought. However ideally I'd like to get a CD case so I can put all my CDs in one place (these are only the ones I've acquired over the last year or so), and then move all my books from my crappy old case into this one eventually. Definitely considering moving my manga as they're all stuffed into my old case scruffily! Ahaha okay I was in the middle of writing this and mum just got home with a CD shelving unit for me, hells yeah.


Records, CDs, Pocket Pikachu, Sailor Moon cards, Book of Clow, Pokémon annual, notebooks.


Books! Novels on top and other on bottom.


Japanese magazines (Kera, Gothic & Lolita Bible, Fruits, Popteen, Egg), textbooks (Psychology and Neurobiology).

And all this leaves my old crappy shelf to be a toy shelf! I have no idea how to arrange my stuff though, or whether to debox my ponies and dolls or not ^_^' Definitely open to ideas! Also since my records are out now, my dad finally knows that I collect them and he had to show off his collection.


Much more impressive than mine, but he has been collecting them for 30 years or so! Also it turns out he owns one Muse album on vinyl...the ONE albums of theirs I don't own. Lucky!

Hmm I guess now I have to put this CD thingy together and then move all my stuff AGAIN!! Don't know whether to alphabetise my CDs and books or whether to put them in order of how likely I am to use them...

☆ Day three: A picture or video of your bedroom.

Haha I'd been meaning to do one of these things for ages. My room is a total tip, even though I literally just cleaned it the best I could. And yeah I'm in my pajamas and wearing no make-up, I hope my appearance doesn't scare you off!

Stupid how nervous I get talking to a camera. And when I'm nervous my accent changes ¬_¬

Sorry about how shitty and narrow it is. This is my first time using the camera on my iPhone, and it filmed everything sideways so I had to rotate it. And apparently the back camera films more narrowly than the front camera. What a heap of poop! Lucky I have this phone for music and not for camera.

But yes, enough complaints and excuses. Enjoy my room!

Lolita 30 ~ Day 23 ~ My Room

Day 22 – A picture of your room.





In my defence, my old bedroom was way bigger than this one, I never used to have a double bed (and I really don't need one) and of course I'd moved away for university. So I now have 2 rooms worth of stuff crammed into one smallish room (with some rather drastic overspill into my bf's room baha).

I'm in the middle of sorting through my wardrobes trying to get rid of clothes, but that's gonna take a few rounds of sorting. I've also shoved all my unpacked junk in one place from when I sorted out the first wardrobe. I haven't gotten any further than that!

This is far from my dream bedroom anyway. I'd wanted the teal all the way around, or some aubergine walls. Despite my mum saying I coud have whatever I wanted, surprise surprise I wasn't allowed. And so I have this crappy blue colour for most of my room, even though it isn't my kind of colour at all and I don't really like it =/ I also hate the wood (so orange D=) but wasn't allowed to varnish it darker. Grr.
