Christmas Meet

Way back on the 6th of December our comm had our Christmas meet. Well, two meets actually! I had to work from 06:30 to 11:30 in the morning, so I didn't have a lot of time to get ready and ended up retying my hair on the bus without brushing it...


Obligatory bus and music shot to begin. I finally got to wear my Holy Night Story set in green, along with the coat that Antonia gave me back in the Summer. I could only do up one button, but I count that as a success!


Part one of the meet was at Cox & Baloney for a fancy afternoon tea.


I actually enjoyed eating brie for the first time ever as I'd never had it with jam before!


Such a lady, haha.


Perhaps the strawberries and cream flavoured tea blend was going to our heads.


Afterwards was karaoke! I tried my hand at scoring Celestial or Sugar Dream Dome since it was released during the meet, but 3D on an iPhone 4 was woefully inadequate.


Lots of singing happened though, and I kicked frilly butt at the quiz again!


Since Sophie stayed at mine we headed back into town after I had finished work in the morning for a late lunch in Giraffe.


I had nachos. Boring, but I loooove nachos.

Somehow I ended up just taking derpy photos and photos of food again, huh.

Monika's Birthday Karaoke

On Saturday I visited Monika in Bristol!

She has the cutest bengal kitties...they were so huge and shy.


I ended up borrowing one of Monika's gorgeous BTSSB dresses for the night out!

Afterwards we went to a pub where some jerk decided to look up dress. I slapped him (I was really annoyed as obviously the dress wasn't mine and I was holding a full pint of cider and black which would have stained badly had he been any rougher). Apparently my reaction made me 'fiesty' or something, as then his friend decided to have a go too? Like are you serious? Next guy who tries it is getting a black eye!

We went to an 80s club night for a little bit where they looked down upon me for requesting Duran Duran...and we took silly selfies, of course!


Overall I had a great time, and the highlights were duetting with Kath to Jimmy Eat World and dancing the Macarena with Kyra to Metallica!

Lollipop

Last night our comm celebrated its 4-year anniversary! This year we went to Lollipop karaoke for singing, dancing, and boozing.

I failed at my hair but it turned out okay in the end, I think. Looking at the photos I feel that I look a bit Baby Spice...must be the high ponytails and fluffy jacket.


I wore my Jewelry Jelly set. I struggle to wear this as it's so OTT for me. And well, the jacket is just cray.

I tried to get everyone in one shot, but the room was too small (I was right in the corner of the room with the camera).

In addition to karaoke, Amy also organised a loli pop quiz with fabulous (and very sparkly) prizes. I somehow managed to win, despite not even knowing that Metamorphose HAD mascots, let alone know their names!


Soooo looking forward to using that palette, I love sparkly shadows so much ♥

Already excited about the next meet! May have to wear that ridiculous jacket again, and hopefully I'll be able to wear my lucky pack.

Catch-Up

Since it has been a while, I thought I'd do a little catch-up post! I've been rubbish at taking photos lately though so they're either awful or pinched from other people (-_-')

A few weeks ago Monika had a birthday night out. We did karaoke (I got rather drunk and carried away), and then we went to Bierkeller for some more drinking and more dancing! And I was a naughty meow (uh oh, I picked up Joyce's meow tic) and tried a cigarette for the first time orz

I was street-snapped in Bath earlier that day, but only got a handful of likes so I didn't win any shopping vouchers. Which is a shame, as I happened to put effort into my outfit that day!


More recently we had a Hallo-meme night where we all dressed (sort of) as memes! I was woman laughing alone with salad, but so was Antonia so we laughed together with salad xP though the photo hasn't surfaced anywhere yet!

That was a momentous night as I managed to not be hungover the next day! Although that was probably due to the fact that I left really early. My phone said the station was 7 minutes away but then someone pointed out I had it on car and it would take 20 minutes by foot, so I had to peg it. Guess how long it took? SEVEN BLOODY MINUTES ahaha I AM CAR.

On Halloween I went to a house party. The punch was awesome. The jelloshots were also awesome.

Other than that I have been stressing out like mad over uni work. I have 2 essays and 2 presentations to do in the next couple weeks, and this is on top of the papers I have to read, exam notes, and dissertation work (which involves about a billion hours just sat in the lab with participants).

Also what are you guys thinking of the bigger photos I've been using? I'm not sure if they look too big with this theme or not (^_^')

My month so far...& Karaoke!

Well I always knew February was going to be hectic, but I'm exhausted already and we still have over two weeks of it left!

I've finally finished programming my cognitive task (or will have once I figure out which port I need to use), which means I now have to start finding participants and carrying out my study. It will be horrible. I get really nervous meeting new people, and I have to touch them =| it'll also be dead boring for me, having to sit in a room while they play some horrid video game and do really long boring tasks. I doubt I'll get anyone to take part, and any that do will surely drop out really quickly *le sigh*

Last Wednesday we had a placements conference, which meant we had to see some presentations about our dissertations and final year options and then had to stand by our posters for a couple of hours to answer questions asked by any second years interested in our placements. It sounds really dull but it wasn't too bad since all my coursemates were there and I haven't seen them since June or something! Afterwards there was a small session involving wine and food, then we went to the Plug bar. Then I dashed straight to Bexy's for drinkies, to the Hob pub and then out to Discord.


So I was on my feet all day really, having left the house at 8.30 and not getting back until 3.30!

I've been generally running around last week anyway, going to and from town on various errands. Then there was the whole being dumped fiasco on Thursday night =| I won't go into too much detail because I'll just get upset again, but yeh we're back together now. If he'd just talked to me instead of breaking my heart -_- I'm still a bit confused and really freaking paranoid about it happening again, and what a way to trash a 5 year relationship. I was worried about it being really fucking awkward after which is was, but I think we're pretty much back to how we were before now, just the extra worry and horrible memories. It took a lot out of me, leaving me even more exhausted.

Yesterday I went to Bristol for some retail therapy and karaoke...yet more running around! It was really fun though, and I guess made up for the crapness of the few days before.

Here are the things I bought:


A talking Starly from Toys R Us! I went in there to look for ponies but they didn't have any I particularly wanted.


Bunch of clothes from Primark. Turns out everything I bought (apart from the socks) is too small =| I already bought a size up, goddamnit! And they didn't have the next size up. Ergh. I can wear everything, just the swan top doesn't sit right and the other two items are skin-tight!


Bunch of G3 ponies from Family Bargains! They're so dusty and gross from however many years in storage xP

The karaoke place was pretty awesome! We went to Obento, so we had delicious Japanese food. I had vegetable yakisoba (and cucumber maki that I stole from Sophie's bento!). I was worried about leaving my shoes outside of the room...noooo my burandoooooo haha.

Ziggy, Sophie, myself, and Hayley. Coz the room was so tiny there aren't really any good photos! I have my eyes closed and my gob open (singing) in just about all of them. And after all the worry about not knowing any songs, I ended up singing along to just about every one (I won't share the video evidence, I was a little bit drunk and my singing is terrible at the best of times!).

When it was time to leave, most of us went on to a goth club thingy (thanks very much to Leah who gave me a lift home after, otherwise I'd have had to dash to the bus station straght away to get home!). It was pretty cool in there, even though I didn't know any music and had too many bags to dance! Here's the only oufit shot I have from the evening.

So yeah, just this week was an emotional rollercoaster and I wish I could sleep and lazy around for a few days, but no luck there. Have so much more to do this month, hope nothing else messes up as I can't take it lol.
