A Decent Cup Of Tea

Last Friday I ended up getting a somewhat last minute tattoo at Imperial Tattoo Company in Bath.


I wasn't too sure about the design at first, but thankfully I love it! It is in a rather awkward place for photos, but I'll probably get a better photo once it's healed!

It's another addition to my Frank Turner leg, and I really hope I can add more to it soon as I have a lot of ideas! Matchy-matchy leg yayy.

I Keep Having Dreams

Yesterday I finally got the tattoo I've been wanting for years!

Ever since Frank Turner's England Keep My Bones was released in 2011, I have been in love with the song I Am Disappeared. The song has been a reminder to me that if things ever get too much, I don't have to stay. I can get up and I can leave. So I've always wanted that reminder on my skin. And now I finally have it!


This was done by Steve Bates at Imperial Tattoo Company in Bath. I was worried about the design as I hadn't been very specific, but it is absolutely spot on. I'm so happy with it! Already considering adding some swallows around it and just giving up and having a full Frank Turner leg.

Just looking forward to it being nice and healed now so I can use my laptop properly again! And I need to save a ton of money up as I want more tattoos now like crazy.

Friday 13th

This Friday 13th I finally got a chance to get a tattoo! Finally!


I ended up paying my bus fair in 10p coins so I could take money from the shrapnel pot again instead of having to get money out. It took the driver ages to check the amount.


This was outfit for the day, with double layered leggings to stay warm! I thought my Killstar shirt and Black Milk Cross of St Peter leggings were perfect Friday 13th attire. I bought a long-sleeved crop in New Look, but I'm not sure about it as everything seems slightly baggy on my waist (presumably because I'm not very tall?? I already bought an 8 and on size charts I'm a 12!).


It was a tough choice in terms of what to get. I wish I had more tattoos so I could have gotten away with one of the Adventure Time ones from Mandy at Electric Vintage. But I don't think I'm ready for that just yet! Plus these cost more and I'm not doing too well on the money front right now.


So I went along to Imperial Tattoo Company, as per. There were a few more designs to choose from, and they were only £13 each! I ended up plumping for the coffin by Amy since it goes well with the planchette I got from her at Halloween.


The result, with huge photobomb from my flaky rose tattoo haha.

I also ended up getting my septum pierced, despite Broad Street Studio not doing Friday 13th deals this time around. This was a dumb move as now I can't get my tongue pierced for another month when I had time booked off to get it next week, ugh! It doesn't look as terrible on me as I had feared, but I have no photos since I have a retainer in while it heals so you can't see it at all. Oh well, lesson learned. Impulse piercings are a dumb idea haha. At least it doesn't hurt at all!

New Body Additions

So on Tuesday I fiiiiinally got the balls to get a big tattoo! I'd been wanting a rose on my knee for over a year but kept worrying about every little thing. It's done now (well, half done), so I'll have to stop worrying about it suiting me and my style or whatever now!


I got it done at Imperial Tattoo Company in Bath by Steve Bates since he does awesome traditional stuff. I wasn't sure about placement or size but I decided to just trust him with it. I was so terrified! Like I couldn't even see straight when I was sat waiting, it was crazy.


The transfer was of the flower part only, so after that was inked the leaves got drawn on with Sharpie! I was surprised that the knee cap didn't hurt more. The fatty parts were so much worse, the fattier the more painful. Which is annoying as I thought I'd start with the knee so the rest of the leg would be less daunting, but I want my thigh done next and that's way flabbier...

I don't know exactly how long it took, I was in the shop for over two hours but obviously a lot of that was non-tattooing time. We decided to split the session as it would be easier on my wallet and hopefully less pain overall. So I get to go back for the rest in a couple of weeks! Need to decide whether I want that bottom leaf drawn back in (I'm thinking not, although it would centre it better).


I'm pretty chuffed with it so far...I think? Haha it's just so huge that I'm still freaking out about a bit. It's also not central on my leg, but that's because it's based around the kneecap and knees are just super wonky. Already thinking about using the extra space on the outside of my leg for some lyrics though ;P This photo was taken a day after getting it lined, so it's suuuuuuper swollen. I'm starting to be able to see my actual kneecap again now though, so I'm guessing the swelling is going down!

Sooooo looking forward to getting it finished! I'm pretty sure I'm going to love it, I just worry about how lolita will work with it since I favour ankle socks. And nobody else seems to like it. My mum is really annoyed about it, and Rob's mum just straight up hates it. And strangers on the street were commenting and staring from the off (although I guess I did have a bloody mess of cling film on my leg and odd socks).

Oh well~

Oh right, I said additionS, plural. I got my nipples pierced at Broad Street Studio a couple weeks back. They're cute as, I hope they heal okay and don't reject or anything because shiniesss! And hoping they look less wonky when I get shorter bars put in. Most painful exprience of my life though, especially the second one eeep.

Crazy day!

Yesterday was super crazy! I booked the day off work as there was supposed to be a lolita meet/ghost walk which was cancelled, so I found myself with a free day and needed to fill it.


After a delay (mum wanted to go out and I figured I'd have lunch early) I headed to the bus stop in the pouring rain and got super cold!


I only had time to go in Primark in Bristol, but I picked up a huge cosy shirt, more pony pants, a bunch of warm legwear, and a reduced Halloween tee that matches all my Death By Disco stuff! Also picked up some little Christmas gifts and wish I'd got doubles as I love them haha.


Here are the shirts when I tried them on! As you can see, the shirt is way too big. They only had 8, 12, and 20 though and I wanted it so I snagged a 12 even though I'm a solid 10. I loooooove the jeans on, but didn't realise when I picked them up that they had zips at the ankles which would make altering them to fit my short legs an impossible task.


And rejected tops! I want the sweater real bad but I already have the t-shirt exactly the same, so couldn't justify it. And the other shirt I think I'd want a bigger size and was too lazy to go back and pick one up =P

I was already running out of time so I hopped on a bus to Bath. I had a tattoo booked for 16:30 so I only had time to track down some cheap Bepanthen before heading to Imperial Tattoo Company. I got there a little early so I warmed up in the pub with a half before going in. The counter was in the process of being moved so it was a little hectic in there, but my doubts about the tattoo disappeared once the stencil was on.


It was a design from Amy's Halloween flash that I hadn't been able to get on the day due to work and more work. I was initially torn between the flower and the planchette, but since several other tattoos I'm considering involve flowers I went for the latter.

I was super worried about the pain and stuff, but staying still was more painful than the actual tattoo in the end. This was as I got it on my inner left ankle and my left leg is somewhat deformed haha.


The day-old result! It looks adorable and already looking forward to showing it off with ankle socks in Summer. That said, that's one day's stubble growth, so maybe I didn't choose a good spot haha.

I had intended to get a piercing too, but I couldn't decide in time to get it as I was going to meet Rob at Friday Night Magic but wussed out and then didn't fancy rushing all the way back up to Broad Street. Boo. And then I couldn't figure out which bus I was supposed to take, and it turned out a gas leak has clogged up Hicks Gate so I couldn't actually get home without forking out for a train, so I had to get a bus to Norton and get my dad to pick me up. Luckily he needed to go to the shop anyway, but wow that was pretty stressful thinking I was going to have to walk several miles in the dark with no pavements to get home!


When I finally got home I found that the matching shirt for my tattoo from Killstar had arrived! I didn't realise it had a swear until it got here, oops!

Now to figure out if I should get more tattoos! I would love to cover my legs but all my tattoos are so tiny and I'm not sure I could face long sittings. I was in the shop for less than half an hour in total for this one!

Friday 13th!

Every Friday 13th, a bunch of tattoo and piercing shops hold special events. Often this means special designs and everything being £13, which is a total bargain!

I was really tempted to get an old school rose tattoo from Imperial Tattoo Company, but I wussed out as I'd like my next tattoo to be something meticulously planned rather than something spontaneous!

Instead I decided to check out Broad Street Studio and get my lip pierced! I've been wanting it done for a crazy amount of time...I think it was when someone on some crappy show I watched as a kid got theirs done? So it must have been a pretty long time. I have been thinking about it seriously since I secured a job that won't care, but worrying about placement and whether it would suit me. I think centre would suit me best, but I've wanted snakebites for a long time and my top teeth would have caught as well as the bottom! So I went with the opposite side from my nose piercing.

The shop was really nice on the inside, which surprised me as they had penis tattoos and bisuits inside so I wasn't expecting much xP the guy who did it was lovely, and he even knew the shitty village I live in! The piercing was fine, I was kinda worried about the pain. The bar going in hurt more than the needle, which sucked as the first bar wasn't long enough so it had to be changed (I have thick lips apparently).


Honestly I'm not sure about it still. It feels really uncomfortable and clicks on my teeth a bit, but at least the swelling has mostly gone down already! Hoping it heals okay and that I can start to get used to eating (can only eat slowly which is unlike me!). If it goes well, I might get the other side done when I get the bar changed in the new year!

Crescent Moon

The 6th of August marked the one year anniversary of the Imperial Tattoo Company! To celebrate they held a free tattoo day with lots of cake!


This was the flash sheet for the day. I really liked the envelope design, but thought it was a bit much to get on impulse, so I plumped for the crescent moon design. I was a bit cheeky and cut off the starts...and rotated it...and refused to get it filled.


Excuse terrible photo (and flabby back), it's kinda hard to get myself! I can only just reach it to apply cream Dx

Turns out the shop did 29 tattoos that day!

Wonder if they'll do the same next year? I kind of hope so. Hopefully I'll be living closer to Bath again soon so I can go back for a foot touch up and more tattoos in the mean time.

New tattoo!

I'd been wanting a Frank Turner tattoo for quite some time, but I finally got it on April 24th, 2 days after Tape Deck Heart was released and just over a year after the Wembley gig! I held off making this post as it was still healing, but it's almost completely healed now.

(Sorry about my horrible foot haha).


I've called him Ritardando, and he's from the Poetry of the Deed artwork!

He isn't perfect, the right-most line isn't actually supposed to be there but I think it balances it out better anyway. There's a stray dot but that was from an involuntary leg twitch near the end when it was getting harder to stay still through the pain, so that was my fault! Also needs a bit of a touch-up, but I think I'll just wait until I get another tattoo. Considering getting my other foot done now, but not sure whether to get the same or maybe a swift in the same style.

I went to Imperial Tattoo Company in Bath. There was a cute husky there, loads of Star Wars collectables, and I got to listen to Cypress Hill and Limp Bizkit when getting tattooed!


Ahhh I love getting tattoos, but I'm almost at my limit already as I don't have a lot of space left that can be shown or covered up when I like. My cousins probably think I'm odd for wanting that as they're all COVERED haha.
