Hair!

I've been bored of my hair for a while, so I figured I'd just do something crazy because YOLO. Also my aunt did it for free, which is always a plus.


To be honest, I'm really not sure about it. Lots of short bits of hair stick out at the top! And the rest needs a trim as it's too long to not plait for work, which looks odd with a shaved head!

I guess I don't really regret it, even though I prefer how it was before. I'd only keep wondering "what if?" if I didn't do it, and they say you only regret the things you don't do! And if there's one thing I'm good at, it's growing hair. It'd grow back really quickly if I wanted to.

Think I need to play around with styling a lot. I dyed my dip dye back to pink, but I'm considering dyeing the lot once it's a bit shorter. I just can't decide between purple and green!

Lolita 52 Challenge: Week 4

~Favourite thing to put on my head~

I'm not really a huge fan of hair accessories, and never have been. I was always the girl who get the 'omg you have such nice hair, you should tie it up!' comments, even though if my hair looks nice, why the heck would I want to hide it by tying it up?

I tend to just wear pretty plain headbands or bows, although my favourite at the moment is my spike headband from Topshop and it matches in well with my lolita style since I wear my engineer boots all the time.


Other than that, I wear matching headbows where I can, as long as they don't look ridiculous. Most DO look ridiculous though. The Angelic Pretty ones stand up too much, which looks silly on my super-flat hair. The matching Baby, The Stars Shine Bright one I have just would never suit anyone who doesn' have bangs. As such, I generally stick to my plain side-bows that I got from H&M as they're not so over-the-top.

A part of me wishes I could wear hats, as they can look really cute in casual coords. But they just don't stay on my head!

I'm the spirit of my hair

Right, so I’ve pretty much decided that the only way I can get my hair to look nice and be healthy is by cutting it really short and starting from scratch.

The trouble is, I’m a total long hair person. I may like short styles on other people, but I like having long hair. I like tying it all up on top of my head for bed and using it as a scarf in the winter.

Yes, it will grow back. But I hate having medium length hair! And I’ll probably have to have a bob at some point, and I just hate them (just reminds me of the Spice Girls from when I first got my hair all cut off to look more like Posh …shudders

And it’ll completely stump me lolita-wise. Most head/hair accessories look dumb enough on me anyway as my hair is so flat and straight…making it short too means Angelic Pretty headbows will be pretty much off the cards.

But maybe the change would be a good thing. I’m really stuck in a rut at the moment and am bored stupid by pretty much everything. I’m bored of being lonely and having no friends, so I’m going to be more outgoing and MAKE people hang out with me. I’m bored of my relationship, so I vow to be more spontaneous. I’m bored of my placement, so I intend on giving it my all to try to get the most out of it.

So maybe I can make my drastic haircut signal a new start.
