Angelic Pretty Mini-Haul!

So I inevitably ended up falling in love with an Angelic Pretty special set after forgoing the lucky packs!


After a few attempts I managed to score a set on auction! It was slightly over retail, but I feel lucky for being able to get it at all so soon after release.


The dress is GORGEOUS. The fabric is different than I've seen used before, very soft. I really wish I hadn't passed up on the black version now as this colour will be difficult to coordinate!


The headbow is very plain, but that isn't a bad thing.


And SOCKS! I'm surprised they put out socks with these ones.


The print is like a mishmash of lots of other prints released throughout the year, which I think is great!


I also spotted a Royal Unicorn JSK in the military style I adore while perusing auctions, so I couldn't resist grabbing it.


I love the detailing and the brooch!


While I'm trying to move away from pink, I think this colourway was the best due to the contrast between bodice and skirt. Also it's a non-pastel pink, so it'll be interesting trying to work with this colour.

Hopefully I get a chance to wear these soon! I'd love to wear Royal Unicorn on Valentine's Day, but I'm working until 1200 & everyone is meeting at 1230! Not sure if I can make it!

Juliette et Justine!

Waaaay back at the start of February a few Juliette et Justine rereleases went up for preorder. La Bibliotheque has been a piece I've loved for a long time, but in the end Die Sterntaler managed to tempt me too!

I decided to use fromjapan instead of ordering directly in the hopes of saving a little money, so I bought a couple other bits too. Express shipping turned out to be a waste of money though as it arrived in the country after a day and was then held up in customs for almost a week. VAT was just over £30, and shipping was a lot more than that! I think I'll get cheap shipping next time, although I like having tracking.


I was suprised by how small the box was!

A huge and gorgeous bag came with it, as well as a little catalogue.


These cute little rosettes were on the packaging.

I tried on La Bibliotheque first, and it fits like a glove! It cost ¥33,285 (£195), which is pretty pricey. My worries about the brand being too long on me were well founded though, and I realised that I don't own any petticoats that I can wear with it. So annoying as I wanted to wear it to the meet tomorrow, but it would probably look too sad without one!


The inner hem has the brand name printed on it! I think it's a great little touch. This is the antique orange colourway. Turns out that only the long section is chiffon, which suprised me a little.


Die Sterntaler is even longer and not the most flattering, but it's so flowy and lovely. This was slightly cheaper at ¥32,182 (£189).


The people look kinda creepy to be honest, but the stars really stand out with the flash!


I love how this brand does the flowy sleeves. They help conceal my horrid bony shoulders so well.

I would definitely buy Juliette et Justine pieces in future, but I have to work on getting accessories and things to match the style first as I only have really sweet things!

Holy Night Story headbow in green since I bought the JSK last time. ¥3,885 (£23) is a little expensive, but these don't seem to come up very often and this was a very popular print and colourway.


I also picked up this Baby, The Stars Shine Bright JSK for ¥3,045 (£18). I used to own a similar one that had really bad fading, but I sold it a few years ago and really regretted it. This one isn't quite as flattering, but the lace is really pretty.


Unfortunately it has a gross stain on the bottom! This wasn't mentioned in the listing and their photos completely hid it. Will have to try bleaching it or just leave it looking gross. Boo! I guess you can't expect too much for £18.

This will be my last lolita purchase for quite a long time now as I have no money at all after 4 Black Milk orders. I still have a holiday & a festival to pay for, and I'm really feeling the pinch!

FromJapan - New Frills!

I may have *ahem* 'accidentally' bought a few more things! I used FromJapan again. Charge 2 payment (fees, domestic & international shippings) was ¥10,385 (around £61), and customs/fees were just under £26.

This was the item I bought first, a sailor OP from Angelic Pretty. I believe it's called Tokimeki Girl. It cost ¥5,460 (around £32). Unfortunately it is covered in white fibres and I noticed when I tried it on that it smells of smoke. However this is easily fixed.


The sailor collar is adorable, and the dress undoes using the front buttons.


The pockets are functioning ones, and they're super cute too!


The back is pretty plain, which I think suits a sailor style. I think this will be fine as a casual dress, and I think it was a great impulse buy bargain!


Next, I took the plunge and ordered the Musée du Chocolat bonnet after wanting it the whole time! I prefer it to the headbow as I didn't like the fringe on the bow, whereas this has really nice layers of lace on it. It cost ¥6,300 (around £37), so probably around retail once the fees are included.


Lastly, dream dress alert! It was a little pricy at ¥28,560 (just under £170), and a little more than what it was originally. But I love this piece a lot, and the yen was a lot stronger back then, so I don't mind all that much. I'd wanted this colourway of Holy Night Story since it was released back in 2010. I found the white colourway a few months later (which I think cost more than this one did anyway), and figured I could just sell it if I ever found green. I have no intention of selling it now, but I'm thrilled to have found my favourite colourway finally! I kinda want the wine one too...


The military bodice in velvet is what I love most about this piece. So soft, and fits me like a glove!


The skirt sections looks a tad faded to me, but maybe it always looked that way. The print is so glittery, and the lace looks amazing in this green colour. I was intending to wear Holy Lantern for my birthday, but now I'm torn!

I also picked up something for Sophie's birthday which isn't until April, so I can't post it even though I really want to! I love it, and if she doesn't then I'm keeping it haha.

Mini Angelic Pretty Haul & FromJapan Review

Since getting ACNL and having the Milky Planet OP on there, I suddenly felt I needed to own the dress in real life. It seemed it was time for a new shopping service, and at the recommendation of some friends, I decided to use FromJapan. Their ordering forms were pretty straight forward for Mbok and the tracking of status was really good too. Bidding on Yahoo was a little more fiddly as you have to add deposit to your account as opposed to paying directly, but fine once you get used to it! I have nothing bad to say of their service at all.

Onto the loot!


Everything was boxed up securely. I got hit by customs and had a panic when tracking showed that I would be charged an altered amount which I assumed meant they saw through my mark-down, but I got charged for what I marked as far as I can tell (more than half of my charge was Parcelforce fees *grumble*).


My items!


The Milky Planet OP that prompted my fated return to auctions! I paid quite a lot for it (around retail), but it turned out to be brand new with tags, so can't really complain.


The collar and apron are both detachable, and it's covered in adorable glitter! I'm not sure about white lace, though.


Next up is the Jewelry Jelly miniskirt! I've been wanting a print one for a while, and I figured 'why not!'. That said I would like to trade it for something black...

I got this Jewelry Jelly hoodie in the auction too. The pink matches Milky Planet print really well.

I'd definitely use FromJapan again, although I'm going to try hard not too as my lolita collection is pretty ridiculous at the moment! More stuff on its way to me too, so look forward to it.
