BABYMETAL

On the 2nd of April, Babymetal's much anticipated Wembley Arena show happened! I was in two minds about making the trip to London for it, but I have no regrets now!

After checking into my hostel, I headed to Camden for the afternoon to meet some sharkies for a wander around before heading to Wembley. Queueing there was a nightmare, I ended up in the wrong queue twice before getting into the arena. Then I was in the wrong queue for picking up my preordered shirt. Then I queued there to be told my reference had to be printed so I had to queue to print it out and then queue AGAIN to pick it up.

The show had to support, just some DJing by Daniel P Carter which wasn't so bad.

Then I met up with a sharkie and her friend for the show itself! We had matching Babymetal wristbands!

Babymetal! Haha my photos didn't come out to great, I had quite a bit of cider haha.

The lighting, set, and outfits were all awesome!

Ended up singing and dancing a lot! The setlist was a good mix of tracks from the new album and old goodies.

Really want to see them again! Hope they come back to the UK soon.

The next day I couldn't keep down my free breakfast, so I headed to the Spoons at Marble Arch for second breakfast before walking along Oxford Street and then going to Forbidden Planet before heading to my usual spot at Jubilee Gardens to chill out and read all afternoon.

Went for a sporty Black Milk outfit for the day. Ended up wishing I had worn something lighter as it was surprisingly hot! Especially since I did quite a lot of walking (I was lazy afterwards and got the tube back rather than walking for over an hour).

This was my haul from the weekend! A split top from F21, a shirt from Primark, Catbug keyring and manga from Forbidden Planet, and of course my Babymetal shirt! I wish I could have bought one of the other shirts too, but apparently they sold out super quickly!

Recent merch buys!

I thought I'd share a few recent 'normal' clothing buys that I'm happy with!

I've been really getting back into music again recently, and so I have started buying band tees again with mixed success.

A while back I bought a ton of Frank Turner merch. This was a Wembley set I bought which included...

a tee,

a scarf,

a poster, and a book.

I also bought this badge set.

Annoyingly despite buying the smallest tee size, it's massive and is essentially useless for girls because it's a total man shape. Haven't decided whether to alter it or sell it yet.

These two tees were from ebay and I love them both!

I already own a plethora of Muse tees, but this is my first hoodie (appears to be a Knights of Cydonia one). Sadly it also suffers from chronic hugeness and man shape. It almost comes down to my knees and my hands don't even reach the cuffs...but it's really snug and warm! However, Muse has somewhat fallen out of my favour recently. I just spent £130-ish on two tickets to see them later in the year, but the album teaser was crap and the Olympics song is crap too. Damnit!

My Jimmy Eat World tees! I wasn't too sure about ordering them at first as the website had no sizing chart and no contact emails or anything, plus shipping from America (plus customs and Royal Mail handling fee) was expensive. But they're one of my favourite bands, and the lilac tee is so my style anyway! I got the blue one too as it was only a few dollars and the shipping fee was flat anyway. Thankfully they fit me perfectly despite the fact that I had to completely chance it.

As for band merch I want...I still want the Frank Turner zip-up hoodie as I wear my pullover one an awful lot. I would like a Million Dead tee although obviously they're few and far between since the band split it 2005 and so seem to be either crap condition or overpriced. I'd also like a Biffy Clyro tee as they're one of my favourites at the moment!

And I couldn't resist this Avengers tee from Qwertee.

Frank Turner at Wembley Arena!

Yesterday (13th April), I finally got my birthday present!

A ticket to see Frank Turner, woooooh! My fourth time seeing him, ahahaha.

My outfit, complete with 'invisible llama' shirt, based on the commonly misheard lyric in 'Reasons Not To Be An Idiot'.

We didn't start travelling to London until around 2pm as Rob had a really long interview in the morning. It was his first time driving on the motorway, but we were fine. However it took us 4 hours to get to the hotel, so we didn't get to the arena until around 45 minutes after the doors opened. As such, we didn't have time to look around for the merch stall before the acts started =[ (I had intended on going to look afterwards, but it was too crowded and I ended up missing out completely! Sucks.). The hotel was really nice though - we stayed in a Premier Inn that was really close to the venue. The bed was almost as big as my room here, it was crazy. I could lie across it the wrong way and still not be dangling off at all! It only took us 5 minutes to walk to the arena.

View from our seats. We were in the top row about half way down the arena. Thank goodness my camera has a decent zoom!

Beans On Toast was on first, and although the set was only 20 minutes long and reaaaaaally disorganised, it was good! He did a stage dive at the end and got carried across the whole crowd...and a few people kept him up and ran across the rest of the floor with him!

Next on were Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip. No photo as they were awful. I hate that kind of music, I sat there like 'wtf is this crap' the whole time they were on, but I didn't want to squeeze past the smelly fat man who was sat next to me so I couldn't go for a merch hunt.

Gave us time to take a derpy photo though!

Billy Bragg was next, and he was brill! I'll have to check out his stuff again later.

...and then Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls <3

Frank's mum came on stage to play harmonica during Dan's Song =D

Billy Bragg came back on stage to do 'The Times They Are A-Changing'.

Circle hug that opened up at one point! It became a circle pit shortly afterwards though.

The set was reaaaaally good. I had a few annoyances though. The woman next to me was singing really loudly, out of tune and time. I think she was really drunk. There was a bunch of guys in front of me whose heads blocked my view anyway despite my being higher up. But they had their hands in the air most of the time so I had to keep moving about to try to see! People clapped inappropriately in my favourite song. The end part of The Road was cut off. (Is there a grumpy concert-goer meme yet? Bahaha).

But the performance was amazing as usual, and the new song was EPIC and I can't wait until the next album is ready! I had been thinking I wouldn't see Frank again for a few years, but when he said that there is to be a tour next year and that he'll be doing practically every town in the country I was like 'BATH AND BRISTOL COME TO MEEEEEEEEEE' xP I already cannot wait!

I wish I could have gone to the bar afterwards for a few drinks, but instead we went straight to sleep in order to rest up for today! It didn't take so long to get home, but it still took 3 hours. Luckily all the travelling was fine as we had plenty of CDs with us, and I like travelling anyway! No gigs planned until Reading now, and that's still not definite.

But yes, probably the best birthday present ever!
